     Frederick S. Brose was born on 26 Apr 1847 in Ohio.8,9,10
     His mother died in Jul 1849, when Frederick was 2 years old.19
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Storrs Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his father, Christian Heinrich Wilhelm Brase.20
     He moved to Brown Co., Ohio, with his father and stepmother before 1860. He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Pike Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his father and stepmother, Anna Maria Louise Catherine Beinkämper.21 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pike Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his father and stepmother.22
     He was working on a farm, presumably the family farm, in 1870.23
     Frederick married first Debra Jane Gardner, daughter of Daniel S. Bumgardner and Margret Stultz, on 13 Feb 1873 in Highland Co., Ohio, with Rev. Charles Strond officiating.11,12
     Frederick and Debra appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pike Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, enumerated 10 Jun 1880. Their children Wilmina, Effie and Anna were listed as living with them.24
     He was a farmer on his own by 1880.25,26,27 He reported in 1880 that he owed his farm, which consisted of 3 acres of improved land and was valued at $200, with another $5 worth of implements and $50 worth of livestock. He reported that he had no horses, 1 milch cow, 1 other cattle, with 3 calves dropped the prior year, 1 cow purchased and 3 cows sold live. He had made 100 lb. of butter. He had 5 swine, 49 barnyard poultry, which had produced 150 dozen eggs. The prior year he had 1 acre of hay, that produced 1 ton, 1 acre of corn that produced 60 bushels, 1 acre of wheat produced 19 bushels, and ¼ acre of sorghun that produced 81 gal. of molasses. The estimated value of all products was $75.28
     His wife died on 13 Jan 1885 in Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio.29,30
     Frederick married second Clara E. Long, daughter of Henry J. Long and Hester Ann Windsor, on 23 May 1885 in Brown Co., Ohio, with William Hight, justice of the peace, officiating. She had previously been married to John A. Barrow.13,14
     Frederick was named an heir in the will of his father dated 27 Aug 1885 in Pike Twp., to receive $250 cash, to be paid by his step-siblings Christian and Wilhelmine, who were to receive his father's farm after the death of his step-mother.31

     Frederick and Clara appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, enumerated 23 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their farm, free of mortgage. Their children Thomas, Emma and Henry were listed as living with them, as was Thomas' wife, Minnie E. Davidson.33
     Frederick died on 12 Feb 1917 in Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, at age 69.15,16 He was buried on 14 Feb 1917 in New Harmony Cemetery, New Harmony, Brown Co., Ohio.17,18
