He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Frederick S. Brose and Clara E. Long.4
Thomas married first Minnie E. Davidson, daughter of Foster S. Davidson and Martha Jane Pitzer, on 17 Oct 1909 in Brown Co., Ohio, with Rev. J. E. H. Sentinan officiating.11,12
He was a farmer by 1910, likely working with his father.21,22
Thomas and Minnie appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
Thomas and Minnie appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 205 Worth St., enumerated 5 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Their children Clara, Velma and Carl were listed as living with them. They were living across the street from his half-sister Anna and her family.23

Research Note, Sep 2024:

The evidence that Granvill was Sarah's second husband is thin, and subject to reasonable doubt. Evidence that he was includes 1) her name when she married Thomas was Fay Davison, 2) Granvill listed Mrs. Fay Davison, living with him, as the person who would always know his address, and 3) she would have known Thomas since his first wife was Granvill's sister. Evidence raising doubt includes 1) Sarah's husband in the 1940 census was shown as Russell (though his age and birth state matches Granvill's, no other record of this Russell can be found and Granvill has not be found elsewhere), 2) in the 1940 census his first wife was living with their daughter and her husband, but was listed as married, and 3) her obituary shows her a his widow. His death certificate shows him as separated but does not name his wife.15,36,37,38,39,40
