     Howard Allen Brose was born on 9 Jul 1888 in Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Frederick S. Brose and Clara E. Long.4
     Howard has not been found in the 1910 census. When he was married in Oct 1910 he gave his address as 1329 Race St., Cincinnati, a rooming house. But he was not listed there in the 1910 census, nor was he with his parents in Brown Co.16
     Howard married Frances Bertha Berger, daughter of George F. Berger and Magdalene Stedtmiller, on 26 Oct 1910 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. F. M. Lamping, Catholic priest, officiating.10,11,12
     He was a streetcar conductor by the time of his marriage.17,18 He registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 3611 Newton, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as a conductor for Cincinnati Traction Company.19
     Howard and Frances appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3577 Woodburn Ave., enumerated 2 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Her sister Margaret and her husband, Oscar Shively, were listed as living with them.20
