Narrative:

Fredrich Hinrich Fenncker was born on 29 Jun 1798 in No. 100, Brockum, Electorate of HanoverG.5,6,7
He was baptized on 7 Jul 1798 in the Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Electorate of HanoverG, with Franz Hinrich Meier, Friedrich Hinrich Frerking, and Johann Hinrich Thielke from Wedem as godparents.4
His mother died on 1 Feb 1802, when Fredrich was 3 years old.12,13,14
Fredrich married Marie Margarethe Koop, daughter of Johann Heinrich Koop and Margrethe Engel Buschmeyer, on 28 May 1820 in Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Kingdom of HanoverG.8,9
He was a "Häusling" or landless crofter, living in a rented house of one of the farmers, for whom he worked based on a contract, when he was first married.15 He inherited the farm founded by his father, No. 100, BrockumG, about 1827, when he was first described in records as a "Neubauer" (new farmer). He later, as early as 1835, also inherited the role of Dammhirte, or village shepherd, from his father.16,17,18
It seems as if the family had a high standard of education which enabled the children to achieve good marks at school and the father to become the village mayor and church elder. Twelve to 30 children were confirmed in Brockum each year, and the order of the children in the confirmation lists referred always to their school marks, their ability and diligence. It is striking that both Wilhelm and Friedrich Hinrich were at the top of their class and a brother and two sisters were amongst the three best pupils. This is even more remarkable considering the children of small farmers and herdsmen were usually not near the top of the class because many of them did not attend the school very regularly, particularly in summer and fall.19,20,21
Fredrich was serving as Orts- und Kirchenvorsteher (village mayor and church elder) at the time his son Gerhard was married, in 1852. The two positions were not connected to each other and not often taken by the same man, and were of great importance and reputation in the village. Usually one of the bigger farmers held these positions.22,23
Fredrich and Marie appeared on the Census of Brockum, Kingdom of Hanover, at No. 100, enumerated 3 Dec 1852.24
His wife died on 12 May 1864 in No. 100, Brockum, Kingdom of HanoverG.25,7
Fredrich died on 23 Apr 1868 in No. 100, Brockum, Kingdom of PrussiaG, at age 69.10,7 He was buried on 27 Apr 1868 in Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Kingdom of PrussiaG.11
