     She was at one time a teacher in a one room school. She then became a nurse, training at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, and for a while after her marriage assisted in her husband's practice.16
     Mary married Dr. William Tarvin Fenker, son of Albert August Fenker and Mary Grant Hillebrandt, on 5 May 1917 in Monroe Co., MichiganG, with Rev. F. A. Lendrum, Methodist Episcopal minister, officiating.7,8,9
