     John married Emma H. Kuhlman, daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Geltmayer and Varena Long, on 22 May 1889 in Huntington Co., Indiana, with Rev. J. H. Henser offciating.9,10,11
     John and Emma appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Columbia, Whitley Co., Indiana, on Chaucey St., enumerated 25 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their home. Their children Frederick, Verena, Gertrude, William and Mildred were listed as living with them.17
     John and Emma moved to St Joseph Co. in 1901.18,19 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of South Bend, Saint Joseph Co., Indiana, at 522 Leland Ave., enumerated 3 May 1910, reporting they rented their home. Their children Frederick, Verena, Gertrude, William, Mildred and Charles were listed as living with them.20
