     Emma H. Kuhlman was born on 1 Feb 1862 in Huntington, Indiana.9,10,11
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents, Frederick Kuhlman and Varena Long.19 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents.5
     Emma married John H. Baumgartner, son of Max Baumgartner and Rosa Upheil, on 22 May 1889 in Huntington Co., Indiana, with Rev. J. H. Henser offciating.12,13,14
     Emma and John appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Columbia, Whitley Co., Indiana, on Chaucey St., enumerated 25 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their home. Their children Frederick, Verena, Gertrude, William and Mildred were listed as living with them.20
     Emma and John moved to St Joseph Co. in 1901.21,22 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of South Bend, Saint Joseph Co., Indiana, at 522 Leland Ave., enumerated 3 May 1910, reporting they rented their home. Their children Frederick, Verena, Gertrude, William, Mildred and Charles were listed as living with them.23
     Emma was named an heir in the will of her father dated 5 Jul 1918, in which she was to receive an equal share in the estate with her seven siblings.24

     Emma appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of South Bend, St Joseph Co., Indiana, at 522 Leland Ave., enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting she owned a home valued at $3,000, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Her daughter Mildred was listed as living with her.27
     Emma died on 5 Jun 1948, her residence, 522 Leland Ave., South Bend, St Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 86.15,16 She was buried on 8 Jun 1948 in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.17,18
