Narrative:

Johanna Pruetzel was born on 14 Oct 1875 in MissouriG.4,5,6 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of her parents, Charles Pruetzel and Marie Hertel.11
     Johanna married Moritz G. Gapsch, son of Edward W. Gapsch and Sophie Herfurt, on 21 Nov 1897 in St. Lucas Evangelical Church, Sappington, St. Louis Co., MissouriG, with S. Kruse, pastor, officiating.7,8
     Johanna and Moritz appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri G, enumerated 19 Jun 1900, reporting that the family rented its farm. Their children Charles, Maria, and Henry were listed as living with them.12
     Johanna and Moritz appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Reaves Barracks Rd. G, enumerated 2 May 1910, reporting that the family rented its farm. Their children Charles, Maria, Henry, Gustave, Moritz, and Robert were listed as living with them.13
     Johanna and Moritz appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Tesson Ferry Rd. G, enumerated 2 Jan 1920. Their children Charles, Henry, Maria, Gustave, Moritz, and Robert were listed as living with them, as well as his father, Edward W. Gapsch.14
     Johanna and Moritz appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Tesson Ferry Rd. G, enumerated 11 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned its home, and had no radio. Their children Moritz and Robert were listed as living with them, as well as his father, Edward W. Gapsch.15
     Johanna and Moritz appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., Missouri, on Tesson Rd. G, enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $12,000, and had lived in the same house in 1935.16

Henry Gapsch was born on 8 Apr 1900 in So. Affton, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.4,5,6 Henry and Maria were twins.12,13
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.14 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of his parents.15 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, Missouri in the household of his parents.16
     Henry married Dora A. L. Moehlenhoff, daughter of George Moehlenhoff and Emma C. A. Hoops, on 22 Aug 1926 in Eden Evangelical Church, Affton, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.7,8,9
     Henry and Dora appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of St. Louis, Missouri, at 7346 Morganford Ave. G, enumerated 11 Apr 1930, reporting that they were renting their home, for $25 per month.17
     Henry applied for a Social Security Number 1 Aug 1939, while living at Union Rd., Lemay, MissouriG, where he was employed by Grantwood Construction Company, at 7952 Rock Hill Rd., St. Louis.2

Gustave Henry Gapsch was born on 11 Feb 1903 in St. Louis, MissouriG.4,5,6 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.15 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, Missouri in the household of his parents.16
     Gustave married Louise Caroline Scheidt on 16 Dec 1928 in Eden Evangelical Church, Affton, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.7,8,9
     Gustave and Louise appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri G, enumerated 19 Apr 1930, reporting that their home was rented, for $22 per month, and that the family had a radio.17
     Gustave applied for a Social Security Number 4 Dec 1936, while living at Affton, MissouriG, where he was employed by W. A. Rowe Floral Co., in Kirkwood, Missouri.1
     Gustave and Louise appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Reaves Rd. G, enumerated 25 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,000, and had lived in the same house in 1935. Their children Marlene and Gene were listed as living with them.18
