     Augusta and Charles appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Baptist Church Rd. G, enumerated 15 Jan 1920, reporting that the family rented it's home. Their children Alma, John, Louise, Helen, and Charles were listed as living with them.12
     Augusta and Charles appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Baptist Church Rd. G, enumerated 15 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned it's farm, and did not have a radio. Their children John, Louise, Helen, Charles, and George were listed as living with them.13

Caroline M. Barkhau was born on 7 Jan 1901 in Affton, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.1,4,5 She was known to family as Lena.3,11
     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of her parents, Benjamin F. Barkhau and Mary H. Pruetzel.12 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of her parents.13
     Caroline married Edward Gapsch, son of Edward W. Gapsch and Sophie Herfurt, on 21 Aug 1921 in Evangelical Church, Affton, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.6,7
     Caroline and Edward appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Forman Rd., Affton, G, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting they owned their home, and that the family had a radio. Their daughter Alvina was listed as living with them, Her parents apparently lived close by, as they are listed in the preceding household.14

     Benjamin married Mary H. Pruetzel, daughter of Charles Pruetzel and Marie Hertel, about 1897.7,8,9
     Benjamin and Mary appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Weber Rd. G, enumerated 7 May 1910, reporting that the family rented its farm. Their children Clara, Mary, Caroline, Matilda, Bernhard, and Emma were listed as living with them.3
     Benjamin and Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Forman Ave. G, enumerated 19 Jan 1920, reporting that the family rented its farm. Their children Mary, Caroline, Matilda, Bernhard, and Emma were listed as living with them.10
     Benjamin and Mary appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Forman Rd. G, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned its farm, and owned a radio. Their children Bernhard and Emma were listed as living with them, Their daughter, Caroline, and her husband and daugther, apparently lived close by as they are listed in the following household.11

G, enumerated 31 Jan 1920, reporting that the family owned its farm, free of mortgage. Their children William, Edna, Amelia, Emma, Louis, and Herman were listed as living with them.3
