Narrative:

Robert F. Gapsch was born on 13 Mar 1910 in St. Louis Co., MissouriG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.12 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, Missouri in the household of his parents.13 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of his parents.14
     Robert married Louise Clara Heimburger, daughter of Charles Robert Heimburger and Augusta Elizabeth Krueger, on 14 Jan 1934 in St. Lucas Evangelical Church, Sappington, St. Louis Co., MissouriG.7,8,9
     Robert and Louise appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Tesson Rd. G, enumerated 13 Apr 1940, reporting that they were renting their home, for $15 per month, and had lived in the same town in 1935.15
     Robert was a labor at a wholesale florist in 1940, reporting that he had worked 52 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,199. He later became a farmer, operating in Silex for more than 50 years according to his obituary.16,11 Robert owned a tavern (along with brother Moritz) and the property was in an area later used for development, providing them a handsome profit.17
     His wife died on 30 Apr 1995 in Troy, MissouriG.18,19
     Robert died on 5 Jun 2001 in Troy, Lincoln Co., MissouriG, at age 91.10 He was buried on 8 Jun 2001 in Hawk Point City CemeteryG.11

Charles Moritz Gapsch was born on 23 Oct 1898 in St. Louis, MissouriG.4,5,6 He was known to family as Carl.11
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.12 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., Missouri in the household of his parents.13 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, Missouri in the household of his parents.14
     Charles married Emma C. Franke, daughter of William F. Franke and Lena Meyer, on 24 Feb 1924.7,8,9
     Charles and Emma appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Union Rd. G, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home worth $3500, but did not have a radio. Their children were listed as living with them.15
     He was a laborer at a florist in 1930.15
     Charles applied for a Social Security Number 30 Nov 1936, while living at Lemay, MissouriG, where he was employed by Alpha Portland Cement Co., Lemay, Missouri.16 He was a brick mason at the plant by 1940. That year he reported that he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and had worked 51 weeks the prior year, earning $1,200.17
     Charles and Emma appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri G, on Union Rd., enumerated 24 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,000, and had lived in the same house in 1935. Their children were listed as living with them.18
     Charles died in Dec 1986 in St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MissouriG, at age 88.10
