     Emma Hartwig was born about 1862 in Indiana.9,10,11
     Her mother apparently died between 1862 and 1870, when Emma was under 8 years old, perhaps while she was an infant.15,16,17
     Emma and her sister Angeline appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 13 Jul 1870, in the household of Gotteib Miller and his wife Bertha, who as their father's sister.18 Emma also appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of her mother's brother Nathan and his wife, Mary C. Glick.19
     Emma and her sister Angeline appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Tremont St., enumerated 7 Jun 1880, in the household of Gotleib Miller and his wife Bertha, who as their father's sister.20 They also appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Huntington Twp., Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of their father and stepmother, Elizabeth Zahn.5
     Emma died on 6 Apr 1887, at the Insane Asylum, Marion Co., Indiana.12,13 She was buried on 9 Apr 1887 in Huntington, Indiana.14
