     313 Submit S. Garlinghouse was born about 1814 in New Jersey.6,7
     She moved to Indiana with her parents by 1820. She was probably the female under age 10 listed in the household of her father, John Garlinghouse, in the 1820 Federal Census of Cotton, Switzerland Co., Indiana.14
     She moved to Tippecanoe Co. with her parents by 1830. She was probably the female age 15 to 20 listed in the household of her father in the 1830 Federal Census of Fairfield, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana.15
     Submit married first Willard Burr Cobb, son of Capt. Willard Cobb and Amy Allen, on 19 Sep 1830 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, with Levi Thornton, justice of the peace, officiating.8
     She was probably the female age 20 to 30 listed in the household of her husband, Willard, in the 1840 Federal Census of Decatur Co., Indiana.16
     Her husband died on 6 Sep 1849 in Decatur Co., Indiana.17,18
     Submit appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Greensburg, Decatur Co., Indiana, enumerated 23 Aug 1850, reporting real estate valued at $220. Her children Sarah, Paulina, Emma, Marietta and Alice were listed as living with her.2
     Submit married second Joseph Israel on 24 Nov 1852 in Switzerland Co., Indiana, with Thomas Stewart offciating.9,10
     Submit and Joseph settled in Switzerland Co. after their marriage. They appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cotton Twp., Switzerland Co., Indiana, enumerated 28 Aug 1860, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $50. Her children by her prior marriage, Marietta and Alice, were listed as living with them, as was her mother.19
     Submit and Joseph have not been found in the 1870 census. It is not know whether she was still living then.
     Submit died before 1880.11,12
