     Robert Frederick Stagge was born on 10 Jun 1859 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.6,7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Fredrick Stagge and Johanna Kesner.18
     His father died on 29 Oct 1865, when Robert was 6 years old.19,20
     Robert appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his mother.21 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his mother.22
     Robert married Elizabeth Caroline Wieman, daughter of Henrich Friedrich Wiemann and Anna Maria Catharine Charlotte Rothefeld, on 15 Jul 1885 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. H. Haefner offciating.10,11,12
     He was "commissioned" Brigadier General and Commander of Transportation during the Centennial Celebration of the Settlement of Cincinnati and the 156th Anniversary of the Birth of George Washington in 1888.23
     He was a carpet layer. He was listed as working as a carpet measurer at The Alms & Doepke Co. in 1890-91, and as a carpet layer for Shillito's in 1918. In 1920 he was reported to be an upholster, at a furniture factory, and a cutter in a carpet store in 1910. But he apparently also kept a farm. In 1900 he was reported to be a farmer, and in 1910 his two youngest sons reported their occupations as farm laborer on "home farm."24,25,26,27,28,29
     Robert and Elizabeth appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Columbia Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Milford Rd., enumerated 18 Jun 1900. Their children Robert, Alma, William and Frederick were listed as living with them.30
     Robert and Elizabeth appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Columbia Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Graves Rd., enumerated 14 May 1910. Their children Robert, Alma, William and Frederick were listed as living with them.31
     Robert and Elizabeth appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Columbia Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Graves Rd., enumerated 6 Jan 1920. Their son Frederick was listed as living with them, along with his wife, Dorthea L. Peters, and their son, Walter.28
     Robert and Elizabeth have not been found in the 1930 census, but by the time of his death in 1932 they had moved to Foster, Ohio, where there son Frederick and his family were living.32,33,34
     Robert died on 14 Mar 1932, at his residence, Foster, Warren Co., Ohio, at age 72.13,14,15 He was buried on 16 Mar 1932 in Cemetery of Spring Grove, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the lot owned by the father of his daughter-in-law.16,17
