     Robert Frederick Stagge Jr. was born on 28 May 1886 in Elmwood Place, Hamilton Co., Ohio.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Columbia Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Robert Frederick Stagge and Elizabeth Caroline Wieman.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Columbia Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
     He was a farm laborer, probably on his father's farm as a boy, and by 1910 was working in a carpet store, as a stock keeper.17,18,19
     Robert married Flora Marie Landmeier, daughter of John H. Landmeier and Emma Sandau, on 14 Jan 1914 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. L. Selzer officiating.11,12
     Robert registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 1023 Sunset Ave., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as a shipping clerk with Trorlicht-Duncker Carpet Company.3
     Robert and Flora appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents, with their children Esther and Ruth.20
     He became a commercial salesman in a carpet house by 1920.
