Edgar W. Terhune was born about 1859 in Millstone, New JerseyG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, G in the household of his parents, John G. Terhune and Catherine Caeman.10
     Edgar married first Nell Goodwin Pratt, daughter of Lorin Grant Pratt, on 3 Oct 1882 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.7
     Edgar and Nell lived in 13 Vanburen St.G after they married.11
     He was a lawyer, reporting himself as such in the 1880 census, at the age of 21. By 1882 he was practicing with Wright Holden, under the name of Holden & Terhune, at 79 Dearborn St.G.12,13,14 He was practicing with A. H. Keenon, under the name of Terhune & Heenon, by 1887, with offices at in 77 ClarkG.15
     His wife died on 6 Nov 1888 in 13 East Van Buren St., Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.16,17,18
     Edgar served as County Attorney of Cook Co. He was elected by the Board of Commissioner 23 Dec 1889 for the year 1890. He was not re-elected for the following year.19,20
     Edgar married second Elizabeth Caruthers, daughter of John P. Caruthers and Flora Rivers McNeill, on 6 Apr 1891 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.8,9
     Edgar attended a meeting 19 Apr 1894 to examine the affairs of his wife's brother James P. Caruthers after his business had failed a few weeks before. Edgar was there representing his wife's mother. It was claimed that James had borrowed $75,000 from her. Questions about what had become of the $75,000 became contentious, and James accused Edgar and his wife of living in style at the Lexington Hotel at the mother's expense. "A rough and tumble fight" ensued, which included James throwing a cuspidor at Edgar's head, the involvement of others in the room, and blood appearing on the faces of several participants.21
     Edgar and Elizabeth moved to 1513 Forest Ave., in Evanston, G by 1897.22
     Edgar died on 5 Nov 1897 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG, at age ~38.3 He was buried on 7 Nov 1897 in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.3

Hannah E. Hammond was born, likely in Feb 1858 as shown on the 1900 census, in Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New YorkG. Her age as shown on other census records is consistent, but one family record shows her birth date as 25 Dec 1868, an error of at least a decade, and her death certificate shows, from "hospital records," her birth date as 4 Mar 1862.4,5,6,7,8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New YorkG, in the household of her parents, Luther Hammond and Margaret D. Tuton.14
     Her father died on 14 Aug 1862, when Hannah was about 4 years old.15 She appeared on the 1865 State Census of Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New YorkG, in the household of her mother, Margaret D. Tuton.16
     She moved to Illinois with her mother after her mother's re-marriage. She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Rockford, Winnebago Co., IllinoisG, in the household of her mother and stepfather, John Albert Goss.17
     The family has not been found in the 1880 census.
     As an adult she used the nickname Nannie exclusively, even on legal documents such as her marriage records.3,18,19
     Hannah married Thomas Henry McNeill, son of Thomas Henry McNeill and Rebecca Ann Tuck, on 29 Nov 1882 in Rockford, Winnebago Co., IllinoisG, with Rev. T. R. Strobridge officiating.11,12

     Nannie and Thomas appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 925 West Jackson Blvd. G, enumerated 7 Jun 1900, reporting that the family owned its home, free of mortgage. Their children Thomas and Henry were listed as living with them.21
     HannahThe family has not been found in the 1910 census, though all evidence suggests they were living in Chicago.
     Nannie and Thomas appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 2250 Jackson Blvd G, enumerated 9 Jan 1920, reporting that the family owned its home, free of mortgage. Their children Thomas and Henry were listed as living with them.22
     Her husband died on 11 Jun 1925 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG.23,24 His will was probated 8 Aug 1925. Under his will she was to receive his entire estate for her lifetime. At her death it was to pass equally to their two sons. The estate was reported to be worth $400,000.25
     Nannie appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 2250 West Jackson Blvd. G, enumerated 7 Apr 1930, reporting that she owned her home, valued at $7,000, and owned a radio. Her children Thomas and Henry were listed as living with her.26
     Nannie appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, at 2250 Jackson Blvd G, enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting that she owned a home valued at $1,750. Her children Thomas and Henry were listed as living with her, The record shows that she had lived in the same city in 1935, while her sons had lived in the same house.27
     Hannah died on 8 Nov 1942 in Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG, at age 84.13 She was buried on 11 Nov 1942 in Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IllinoisG.13

Malcolm Rivers McNeill was born on 2 Jun 1887 in Chicago, IllinoisG.4,5,6
     His mother died on 19 Oct 1896, when Malcolm was 9 years old.10,11,12
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois, G in the household of his father, Rivers McNeill, and step-mother, Ella Rebecca de Hart.13
     Malcolm was named executor and an heir in the will of his father, dated 28 Mar 1910 in Evanston, Cook Co., IllinoisG, named with his step-mother and sister Cherrill to serve as joing executors. He was to receive his father's diamond ring, and was to serve as trustee of the ground rents from a lot in Chicago until his step-mothers death. He was also to receive an equal share of all his father's property.14
     Malcolm appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois, G in the household of his father and step-mother.15
     He was a real estate man, presumably working in his father's business in 1910.16

     Malcolm appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois, at 1313 Chicago Ave. G, enumerated 7 Apr 1930, one of three roomers in the home of George A. Townsend and his family.18
     He was a founder and vice president of Illinois Lock Co., at 800 S. Ada St., ChicagoG. He was associated with that company by 1927, but it seems that was not his full focus at that time. In 1930 he reported his occupation as a manager in real estate. In 1940 he reported his occupation as manager in manufacturing, and said he had worked 42 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning over $5,000 in 800 S. Ada St., ChicagoG.19,20,21,22,23 The company relocated to Wheeling, IllinoisG, in 1960, just after Malcolm's death. It was purchased by The Eastern Company in 1965 but still operates as the Illinois Lock Company.24
     Malcolm appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois, at 1311 Chicago Ave. G, enumerated 8 Apr 1940, reporting he rented his apartment, in a building with 30 other units, for $60 per month.25
     Malcolm registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 1311 Chicago Ave., Evanston, Cook Co., IllinoisG, reporting he was employed by Illinois Lock Company, in Chicago.2
     Malcolm died on 5 Dec 1959 in 1311 Chicago Ave., Evanston, Cook Co., IllinoisG, at age 72, found dead in his apartment.7,6,8 He was buried on 10 Dec 1959 in Graceland Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co., IllinoisG, in his father's lot.9
