     Charles Truman Simons was born on 16 Apr 1888 in Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania.6,7,8 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, John Henry Simons and Mary Catharine Riegel.4
     Charles married first Lydia S. Ritter, daughter of Pierce Hiram Ritter and Sallie S. Funk, about 1906.9,10,11
     Charles and Lydia appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, at 350 Cameron Ave., enumerated 20 Apr 1910, reporting that they were renting their home. Their son Franklin was listed as living with them, They were living about two blocks away from his brother Clarence and his family, who were living at 129 Cameron Ave.14
     Charles registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 348 Cameron Ave., Milton, Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as as a laborer for Milton Manufacturing Co., in Milton.1
