Narrative:

Frances May Simons was born on 5 Feb 1909 in Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania.6,7,8
Frances appeared with her mother on the 1920 Federal Census of Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of John Henry Simons, her grandfather.18
She was working at a silk mill before her first marriage.19
Frances married first Lester M. Aucker, son of Lucian Clarence Aucker and Bertha M. Hauck, on 16 Apr 1927 in Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, at the parsonage of the Evangelical Church, with Rev. C. B. Snyder officiating.9,10,11
Frances and Lester appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Milton, Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, at 431 Queen St., enumerated 10 Apr 1930, reporting they were renting their home, for $15 per month. Betty M. Boyer, age 4, was listed as living with them, identified as a boarder.20
Frances applied for a Social Security Number 20 May 1938, while living at Milton, Pennsylvania, where she was employed by D. & G. Throwing Mill at Watsontown. A throwing mill processed raw silk into yarn.5
Frances and Lester appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Turbut Twp., Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 11 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $1,600, and that they had lived in Milton in 1935. Their three children were listed as living with them. They were apparently living on or near his parents' farm, as they are listed as the next household in the census.21
Her husband died on 29 Jun 1949 in West Chillisquaque Twp., Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania.22,23
She was a machine operator at a dress factory by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census she had worked 40 hours the prior week.24

Research Note, 18 Feb 2017:
Frances's father is unknown. No record of her birth can be found in the index of birth certificates for 1909. Her mother reported in the 1930 census that her first marriage was at age 21, or about 1901. But no record of that marriage has been found and she said in her 1916 marriage license application that was her first marriage. Frances has not been found in the 1910 census but she is shown with her mother in 1920, listed with her mother's maiden surname, Simons. She also used the surname Simons in her application for a license for her first marriage in 1927. In that application she reported her father as Calvin Simons, a laborer, living in Milton, birthplace unknown. In her application for her 1950 marriage license she listed her father as Fred Gisely, living in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, birth place unknown. No record of either man has been found. The description of the first, save for the surname, fits her mother's then-husband, Calvin Meckley. It seems very possivle that both were fabricated. In her application for a Social Security number in 1938 she listed her father as Calvin D. Meckley, her mother's then husband, but gave her maiden name as Simons. Neither the newpaper announcement of her first marriage nor her obituary mention her parents.18,28,29,30,31,32,33,34
