     John William Fenker was born on 25 Dec 1856 in Covington, Kentucky.6,7,8
     He was universally known as William, with only a few documents using his first name of John.18,19,20
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Covington, Kenton Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents, William Fenker and Louisa Lebeau.4 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Covington, Kenton Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents.21
     John married Amelia Louise Wieman, daughter of Henrich Friedrich Wiemann and Anna Maria Catharine Charlotte Rothefeld, on 26 May 1880 in North German Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.9,10,11
     John and Amelia appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Covington, Kenton Co., Kentucky, at 718 Willard St., enumerated 5 Jun 1880, apparently living with a 70 year old widow, Barbara Hermann.22
     John and Amelia moved about 1892 to 1108 Gest St., Cincinnati, Ohio, the home of her parents, to take care of her father after the death of her mother.5
     He joined the Third Presbyterian Church in 1898, and while there was active in the Railroad branch of the YMCA. He transferred his membership to the North Presbyterian Church 14 Feb 1909, and became a teacher in the Sabbath School there. He was elected a ruling elder 5 Apr 1911.1
     John and Amelia appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 925 Gest St., enumerated 6 Jun 1900. Their children Alfred, Howard, Louise and Clement were listed as living with them.23
     John and Amelia appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 4104 Fergus Street, enumerated 16 Apr 1910. Their children Alfred, Louise and Clement were listed as living with them.3
     He apparently followed his father's trade as a baker in his youth, as he reported that trade in the 1880 census.24 By 1900 he was a porter at the Railroad YMCA. But he later took up the trade of painter. In the 1910 census he reported that he was a painter in a machine shop.25,26,27
     John died on 7 Nov 1912 in 4104 Fergus St., Cincinnati, Ohio, at age 55.12,13,14 He was buried on 9 Nov 1912 in Cemetery of Spring Grove, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, originally in a single lot, but then his wife apparently bought a family plot, and he was removed there 5 Dec 1912.15,16,17
