     Peter Lowell Smith was born on 24 Sep 1899 in Williamsburg Twp., Clermont Co., Ohio.6,7,8
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Franklin Twp., Warren Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Peter Lowell Smith and Lydia Druzilla Marlott.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Sterling Twp., Brown Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.15
     Peter married first Emma Jane Brose, daughter of Frederick S. Brose and Clara E. Long, on 24 Dec 1917 in Newport, Campbell Co., Kentucky, with T. K. Hutchinson, justice of the peace, officiating.9,10
     He was a finisher at the time of his marriage, and a street car conductor by 1920.16,17 He registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 3312 Graydon, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as conductor for Cincinnati Traction Company.18
     Peter and Emma appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3318 Graydon Ave., enumerated 8 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Their son Alvin was listed as living with them, as were her mother, her brothers Henry and Raymond, and Raymond's wife, Frances Henrietta Carroll.19
     His wife died on 21 Jun 1925 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.20
     Peter married second Florence Edna Jordan, daughter of Alva Jordan and Cora Walters, on 28 Sep 1929 in Brown Co., Tennessee, with Rev. Edmund Bundrall, Methodist minister, officiating. She had previously been married to Hoyt Gardner.11,12
     He was a cutter at a shoe factory by the time of his second marriage.21,22
     He and Florence appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Williamsburg, Clermont Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents. His son by his prior marriage, Alvin, and her daughter by her prior marriage, Evelyn M. Gardner, were also listed in the household.23
     Peter and Florence appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Bethel, Clermont Co., Ohio, at 113 S. Union St., enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $23 per month, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Their three children were listed as living with them, as was her daughter Evelyn and Evelyn Bauer, age 22. She was recorded as doing house work in a private home, but listed as a lodger, so it is not clear whether she worked for this family or only lodged there.24
     Peter and Florence were operating their own beauty shop by 1940, with him reporting in 1940 he had worked 50 hours the last week of March, and 25 weeks the prior year and she reporting she had worked 52 weeks the prior year.25 Peter registered for the draft for World War II on 14 Feb 1942, while living at 113 South Union St., Bethel, Clermont Co., Ohio, reporting he was self employed.26
     Peter and Florence appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Williamsburg, Clermont Co., Ohio, at Third and Walnuts Streets, enumerated 8 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their two youngest children were listed as living with them, as was her father.27
     Peter died on 4 Sep 1971 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 71.13 He was buried in Bloomrose Cemetery, Sterling Township, Brown Co., Ohio.14
