     Iola James was born on 14 May 1858 in Carroll Co., Missouri.7,8,9
     The earliest record found of her, a census when she was one year old, before the death of her mother, shows her name as Julia. All other records show her name as Iola or some variation.13
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Grand River Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, in the household of her parents, William H. James and Reliance Booth.14
     Her mother died on 10 Mar 1865, when Iola was 6 years old.15
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, in the household of her father and stepmother, Nancy Jane Bright.16
     Iola married Charles M. Street, son of John M. Street and Mariah Brady, on 5 Aug 1877 in Carroll Co., Missouri, with Rev. W. C. Baird officating.10,11,12
     Iola and Charles appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, enumerated 9 Jun 1880. Their daughter Merta was listed as living with them.17
     Iola and Charles appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Leslie Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, enumerated 7 Jun 1900. Their children Mary and Bessie were listed as living with them, as was his mother. His brother William and his family were apparently living nearby as they appear as the second preceding household in the census record.18
     Iola and Charles appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Leslie Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, enumerated 25 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their farm, free of mortgage.19
     Iola and Charles appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri, on Campbell St., enumerated 2 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage.20
     Iola and Charles appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri, on Compbell St., enumerated 25 Apr 1930, reporting they owned a home valued at $4,000, and did not own a radio.21
     Her husband died on 16 Nov 1930 in Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri.22

     Iola died on 14 Apr 1949 in Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri, at age 90.6 She was buried on 16 Apr 1949 in the Streets Family Cemetery, Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri.6
