Elenora Shurtz was born on 15 Dec 1868 in Michigan.7,8,9 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Centerville, St. Joseph Co., Michigan, in the household of her parents, Frederick J. Shurtz and Sarah Elizabeth Riegel.16Elenora moved to Iowa about 1880 with her parents. She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Fisher Twp., Fremont Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents.17 She appeared on the 1885 State Census of Shenandoah, Page Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents.18 She appeared on the 1895 State Census of Shenandoah, Page Co., Iowa, in the household of her mother.19
Elenora married John H. Eischeid, son of John Eischeid and Margaret Haas, on 20 Oct 1897 in Page Co., Iowa.10,11,12

Elenora with her husband and daughter, and her brother Harry, drove to Beloit, Kansas, to visit their half brother, Horace, and his family. They made the trip, in a Hudson automobile, in ten hours. According to Google Maps, the trip is now 225 miles and would take four hours.30
Elenora died on 20 Dec 1922 in Grant, Montgomery Co., Iowa, at age 54.13,14 She was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah, Page Co., Iowa.15
