     Annis Baker Clark was born on 15 Jul 1818 in Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.5,6,7
     She was probably one of the two females under age 10 listed in the household of her father, Fitch Clark, in the 1820 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.14 She was probably the female age 10 to 15 listed in the household of her father in the 1830 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont.15
     Annis married first Johnson Loomis, son of Roswell Loomis and Mercy Johnson, on 15 Sep 1839 in Pawlet, Vermont.8
     Annis and Johnson settled in New York after their marriage. Annis was probably the female age 20 to 30 listed in the household of her husband, Johnson Loomis, in the 1840 Federal Census of Sandy Creek, Oswego Co., New York.16
     Her husband died on 5 Mar 1844.17
     Annis returned to Pawlet after the death of her husband. She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Pawlet, Rutland Co., Vermont, enumerated 30 Oct 1850. Her daughters Laura and Julia were listed as living with her.2
     Annis married second John Henry Remington, son of Zadock Remington Jr. and Sophia Cobb, on 10 Jun 1852 in Pawlet, Vermont, with Rev. Elijah H. Bonney officiating. He was a fourth cousin, once removed, of her first husband.9,10,11
     Annis and John appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Castleton, Rutland Co., Vermont, enumerated 16 Jul 1860, reporting real estate valued at $5,000 and personal estate of $1,000. Their children Helen and Flora, his children by his prior marriage, Sophia, Margaret and Florence, and her daughter by her prior marriage, Julia Ann Loomis, were listed as living with them. Seymour Conger, a 16-year-old farm laborer, were also listed in the household.18
     Annis and John moved from the farm in Castleton to Rutland in Feb 1869.19
     Annis and John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Rutland, Rutland Co., Vermont, enumerated 11 Jun 1870, reporting real estate valued at $4,500 and personal estate of $2,000. Their daughter Flora was listed as living with them.20
     Annis and John appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Rutland, Rutland Co., Vermont, at 16 Grove St., enumerated 12 Jun 1880.21
     Annis died on 15 Jun 1891 in Castleton, Rutland Co., Vermont, at age 72.12,13 She was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Castleton, Vermont.13
