     Helen E. Remington was born on 16 Jan 1854 in Castleton, Vermont.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Castleton, Rutland Co., Vermont, in the household of her parents, John Henry Remington and Annis Baker Clark.1
     Helen married William Plinney Rounds, son of William M. Rounds and Maria Sanders, on 27 Apr 1870 in Clarendon, Vermont, with Rev. Lewis Francis, Congregational minister, officiating.11,12,13
     Helen and William settled in Windsor Co. after their marriage. They appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Chester, Windsor Co., Vermont, enumerated 11 Aug 1870, reporting real estate valued at $5,000 and personal estate of $600. His father and his brother George were listed as living with them.16
     Helen and William moved to Bennington Co. by 1880. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Rupert, Bennington Co., Vermont, enumerated 12 Jun 1880. Their children Lena and Gracie were listed as living with them, as was Giles Benson, a hired man.17
     Helen and William returned to Rutland Co. by 1881. William appeared on the Veterans Schedules of the 1890 Federal Census of Pittsfield, Rutland Co., Vermont. Helen and the children were presumably there also, but the remainder of the 1890 census record for her household in not available because those records were destroyed by fire in 1921.18
     Helen and William appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sherburne, Rutland Co., Vermont, enumerated 4 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their farm. Their son William was listed as living with them.19
     Helen and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Sherburne, Rutland Co., Vermont, on Pittsfield Rd., enumerated 21 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their farm, which was mortgaged. Their son William was listed as living with them, as were William's wife Merriam G. Pratt and their two children Helena and Genevea, and William Dailey, a hired hand.20
     Her husband died on 24 Dec 1912 in Sherburne, Vermont.21,22
     Helen applied for a widow's pension based on her late husband's Civil War service on 23 Jan 1913, which was subsequently approved.23
     Helen appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Sherburne, Rutland Co., Vermont, in the household of her son William and his wife, Merriam G. Pratt.24
     Helen died on 3 May 1920 in Sherburne, Vermont, at age 66.10,14 She was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Castleton, Rutland Co., Vermont.15
