     Jefferson Davis Cobb was born on 14 Oct 1861 in Lyon Co., Kentucky.6,7,8
     He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents.17 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Eddyville, Kentucky in the household of his parents.18
     Jefferson married first Lizzie J. McElroy, daughter of Francis M. McElroy and Almmay Young, on 16 Nov 1884 in Lyon Co., Kentucky, at her father's home, with R. W. Morehad officiating.9,10
     His wife died on 19 Jan 1885.19,20
     Jefferson sold his undivided interest in the home place of their father to his brother Giles on 25 Feb 1886, for $500.21
     Jefferson married second Mary Ellen Kinsolving, daughter of John Kinsolving and Mariah J. Beck, on 29 Dec 1886 in Lyon Co., Kentucky, at her father's home, with W. F. Cashman officiating.11,12
     Jefferson and Mary appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Kuttawa, Lyon Co., Kentucky, enumerated 20 Jun 1900, reporting that the family owned its farm, which was mortgaged. Their children Henry, John and Frank were listed as living with them.22 Apparently his brother Giles and his family lived nearby, as they are listed next in the record.23
     Jefferson and Mary moved their family to Texas before 1910. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, enumerated 25 Apr 1910, reporting that they rented their farm. Their children John and Frank were listed as living with them.24 They were apparently living near his brother Henry as he was listed three households following in the record.25
     Jefferson and Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, on Mullin Rd., enumerated 26 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their home. Their children John and Frank were listed as living with them.26
     Jefferson and Mary appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, on Goldthwaite and Mullin Rd., enumerated 11 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, and owned a radio. Their son John was listed as living with them, as was his wife, Belva May Chesser.27
     He was a farmer, on his own farm in Kentucky. He continued as a farmer in Texas, but was renting his farm.28,29,30,31,32
     Jefferson and Mary appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, in the household of their son John and his wife Belva.33
     Jefferson died on 16 May 1943 in Mullin, Mills Co., Texas, at age 81.13,14 He was buried on 17 May 1943 in Oakview Cemetery, Mullin, Mills Co., Texas.15,16
