Narrative:

     Jobst Henrich Wiemann was born on 17 May 1807 Hilter, Kurfürstentum Hannover.5,6,7 He was baptized on 24 May 1807 in Johannes der Täufer Kirche, Hilter, Kurfürstentum Hannover, with Jost Henrich Rosemann, Caspar Henrich Meier, and Maria Elisabeth Lüken as godparents.1
     He was kötter, a very small farmer, perhaps on rented land, in Hilter.14,15

     Jobst applied for permission to emigrate to Ameria with his intended wife, stating he had assets of 60 reichstalter (about $45 at the time). His application was replaced by a second one that also included his mother and his two surviving sisters, Anna and Louise. That application was granted 27 Jul 1842.16
     Jobst married Wilhelmine Louise Cammann, daughter of Casper Henrich Cammann and Margarethe Elizabeth Arning, on 9 Aug 1842 in Johannes der Täufer Kirche, Hilter, Königreich Hannover. They stated that they intended to live in Cincinatti.8,9,10
     Jobst and Wilhelmine arrived in Baltimore on 11 Oct 1842, aboard the Casper, having departed from Bremen. With them were his mother and two sisters, Anna and Louise. Also on board were several other families from Hilter, including two families named Kammann, probably her relatives.17,18
     Jobst used the name Joseph Henry Wiemann after he immigrated.19,20
     Joseph and Wilhelmine appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Storrs Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 9 Sep 1850. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them.19 Christian widower of his sister Louise, and there mother were apparently living close by as they were listed as the following household.21

     He was a laborer in 1850, and had become a gardener by 1860.22,23
     Joseph and Wilhelmine appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Storrs Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 9 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $11,000 and personal estate of $500. Their children Mary, Wilhelmina, Heinrich, Frederick, George and Mary were listed as living with them, as were two day laborers, P. Calder and Jno. Kebler.24
     By 1870 he was working as a teamster.25,26
     Joseph and Philip H. W. Voss purchased 5.35 acres in Storrs Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio, on 29 Mar 1866 from Sarah Moore, for $2,675.27 They mortgaged the property to the seller for $1,783.33. The mortgage was satisfied 24 Oct 1872.10 Joseph purchased the interest of Philip H. W. Voss and wife Dorothea on 6 Jun 1870, for $1,337.28
     Joseph and Wilhelmine appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 11 Jun 1870, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $500. Their children Wilhelmina, Heinrich, Frederick and Mary were listed as living with them.29
     Joseph and Wilhelmine appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Cemetery Rd., enumerated 2 Jun 1880. Their children Mary, Wilhelmina, Heinrich, Frederick and Mary were listed as living with them.30

     Joseph left a will dated 20 Jun 1883, in which he named his wife as executrix and sole heir.20
     Wilhelmine and Joseph sold for one dollar each adjacent parcels of land in Price Hill, Hamilton Co., Ohio, to their sons Henry and Frederick on 18 Jul 1890, parts of the parcel conveyed by Sarah Moore to him and Philip H. W. Voss in 1866.31 On 3 Sep 1890 Joseph sold to his sons Henry and Frederick two horses, all the harness that he had, one Joltwagon, one spring wagon, one harrow, two plows, one cultivator and all the feed that was in the barn except the cow hay, for $300.32
     Joseph died on 24 May 1891 in Cincinnati, Ohio, at age 84.11,12 He was buried in Saint Johns Cemetery, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.13
     His will was probated on 3 Jun 1891 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, approving his wife as executrix.33
     The final settlement of the estate was filed on 1 Sep 1891. It shows the executrix found assets of $400, and paid $106 to the undertaker and $38.50 in burial costs. After payment of administration costs and other debts, she was left with $103.26.34
