     No further record of Maria has been found. Neither she nor her three younger children have been found in the 1880 census. Perhaps they were living together and either were not enumerated, or were living outside Huntington Co. No record of her remarriage has been found in Huntington Co.17

     He was an apprentice in a tire shop by 1910.19
      Frederick enlisted in the Machine Gun Company, 3rd Infantry, Indiana National Guard as a private 1 Jun 1917 in South BendG and began to drill with it.20,21,22
     He registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at New Carlisle, St Joseph Co., IndianaG, reporting he was employed as a tinner for Zeck Bros., in New Carlisle.3
      He departed for Fort Benjamin Harrison, IndianaG, 10 Sep 1917.23 He was transferred to Camp Shelby, MississippiG, several months later, and assigned to Company C, 139th Machine Gun Battalion, 3rd Infantry.24,25
     Frederick married Loretto C. Williams, of South Bend, daughter of James Williams and Ann Higgins, on 12 Sep 1918 in Hattiesburg, Forrest Co., MississippiG.7,8
      He departed for Camp Albert L. Mills, on Long Island, New York, G on 16 Sep 1918.26 He embarked 6 Oct 1918 for overseas, as a sergeant.18
     Frederick died on 12 Oct 1918 at age 28, at sea on board a transport, of pheumonia.9,10,11 He was apparently buried at sea. He is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Suresnes American Cemetery, Paris, FranceG.12
