Narrative:

Herbert C. McCalpin was born on 13 Apr 1917 in MichiganG.4,5,6,7
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Bay, Bay Co., Michigan, G in the household of his parents, Herbert Henry McCalpin and Lettie May Cleaver.12 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Chesaning, Saginaw Co., Michigan, G in the household of his parents.13 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Chesaning, Saginaw Co., Michigan, G in the household of his parents.14
     Herbert married Marjorie I. Volkmer, daughter of Peter Volkmer and Pearl Rolfe, on 21 Nov 1940 in Chesaning, MichiganG.8
     He was a helper, working in produce, reporting in 1940 he had worked 25 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $84.15
     Herbert married second Micha L. McNeill, daughter of Benjamin Franklin McNeill and Marguerite C. West.9
     Herbert and Marjorie were divorced on 22 Aug 1946 in Saginaw Co., MichiganG.8
     Herbert and Micha moved to UrbanaG before 1947, when their daughter was born there.
     Herbert and Micha moved to ChampaignG before 1959.16,17,18
     Herbert had moved to Sterling Heights, Hillsdale Co.G, by the time of his death. No record has been found that Micha moved there with him.19,20,21
     Herbert died on 14 May 1983 in Pontiac, Oakland Co., MichiganG, at age 66.10,11
