Johann appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio G, in the household of his daughter, Maria Wilhelmina Wieman, and her husband, William Capelle.34

Key Events:

Birth: 2 Mar 1821, Hilter, Königreich Hannover,4,5,6
Marriage: 3 May 1845, North German Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, Mary Engel Niehaus (b. abt 1824, d. 10 May 1882)7,8,9
Death: 1872,10

Narrative:

Christian Heinrich Wiemann was born on 2 Mar 1821 in Hilter, Königreich HannoverG.4,5,6 He was baptized on 7 Mar 1821 in Johannes der Täufer Kirche, Hilter, Königreich HannoverG, with Joh. Christ. Crämer, Clar. Marg. Kleyers, and Berend Henr. Wiemann as godparents.1
He immigrated to the United States. According to family lore he immigrated with his brothers Henry and Friedrich, to avoid serving in the German army. It appears they did not actually arrive together. A record has been found that shows Henry's arrival in 1844, but the others were not listed with him. There are records of several other Wiemanns or Weimanns arriving in the late 1830's and early 1840's, of which the one that appears most likely to be Friedrich is a F. H. Weimann, a mason age 22, who arrived in Baltimore in the fourth quarter of 1939. No record has been found that can be identified as Christian.11,12,13
Christian and his brother Henry were in Cincinnati by 1842, when they were living on Woodward St., between Sycamore St. and Broadway. G.14
He was a laborer in 1842, then became a mason. In Mar 1847 he was authorized by the city council to receive $217.69 for constructing a culvert on Lock St. and the Miami Canal. He continued in that occupation until at least 1861.15,16,17,18
Christian married Mary Engel Niehaus on 3 May 1845 in North German Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OhioG.7,8,9
Christian and Mary appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OhioG, enumerated 25 Jul 1850, Henry News, age 15, was listed as living with them. What relationship he had to them, if any, is unknown.19
Christian left a will dated 30 Jan 1854 stating he was of Hamilton Co., OhioG, in which he gave his wife all his property, both real and personal, after payment of his debts. He also appointed her as executrix.3
Christian and Mary appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OhioG, enumerated 12 Jun 1860, reporting real estate worth $1,000.20
Christian and Mary were living at 112 Gest St. about 1861, when he was listed in the city directory at that address. No further record of either has been found except the probate of his will in 1872 and her burial in 1882. While his brothers appeared in nearly every city directory until their deaths, he never appeared after 1861. Neither of them have been found in the 1870 census, and she has not been found in 1880.21
Christian died in 1872 at age ~51.10
His will was probated on 8 Aug 1872 in Hamilton Co., OhioG.3
Research Note, 7 Nov 2004:
The baptismal record shows Christian's father as Joh. Friederich Wiemann, and mother as Margrethe Elisab. Lückers. The name of the father should be Maximilian Friedeich Wiemann, and it appears that this is an error of the recorder. Jens Müller-Koppe, who did the research in the Hannover archives, reports that there was no other Wiemann-Lücken (Lückers) couple in the registers during this period. This conclusion is re-enforced by Louise Fenker's report that her grandfather, Frederich, immigrated with two brothers, one being the grandfather of Harry Wieman.22,23,24

He was known to family as Harry, and seems to have used that name even in more formal situations as he grew older.14,15,16,17
John moved to OhioG before 1870. He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Chillicothe, Ross Co., OhioG, enumerated 17 Jun 1870, as a resident of the Clinton House Hotel. His occupation was listed as gambler.18

John died on 15 Sep 1939 in Columbus, Franklin Co., OhioG, at age 93.10,11
Research Note, Mar 2024:
There is no direct evidence that Henry, son of Friedrich and Maria Wiemann and John H. "Harry" Wieman of Columbus, Ohio, are the same person. But the following evidence seems compelling. His niece Louise A. Fenker recorded that he was known as Harry, and lived to age 92. Based on his age in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, his death would have been about 1938. John H. of Columbus is the only "Harry" Wieman of that age found who died about that time in the region. His death certificate, with his daughter-in-law Rubie Fay Sill as informant, shows his mother as Hannah Rooseveldt of New York. But he consistently reported in census records both his parents were born in Germany. His informant was also informant for his wife's death certificate, and she provided accurate names for only one of her husband's other three grandparents. It seems likely she mistook John H's mother's maiden name Rothefeld for Rooseveldt, and simply had her birthplace wrong.27,28

A Third Marriage --- Text Stolen from ReigelRidge.com !! ---

Wilhelmina married third William Frederick Siekman, son of Jobst Heinrich Siekmann and Anne Ilsebein Nuenker, on 5 Feb 1890. He was the widower of Louisa Elisabeth Strother and had previously been married to Augusta Bohmeyer.14,15,16
Wilhelmina and William Frederick Siekman lived on the farm outside in Burlington, KentuckyG, about 1891 where he had lived with his previous wife, until about 1891, when they bought a farm near Heborn. They improved the house and barn, and planted an orchard, and then in Jan 1896 Mr. Winston, the seller, foreclosed on the mortgage and took the farm back. On 17 Feb 1896 they moved to a rented farm near Taylorsport, where they lived for 19 years, until it was sold. Then they bought a farm two miles west of Burlington, moving there 17 Feb 1915. They lived there until his death, and then she remained until she moved to live with her daughters in Feb 1923, renting the farm to Henry.29
Wilhelmina and William appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Bullittsville, Boone Co., Kentucky G, enumerated 8 Jun 1900.      Wilhelmina appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Burlington, Boone Co., Kentucky, at Petersburg Rd. G, enumerated 14 Jan 1920. Her children Clara and Henry were listed as living with her.50
After the death of her third husband she was listed in the 1920 census as a farmer. Given that she was then 69 years old, it seems likely that their son Henry, then 27, and listed as a "farm manager," was providing considerable assistance.51
After she rented the farm to Henry in Feb 1923 she lived with her daughters. She lived with Cora in the winter and with Clara in the summer, until Clara and her husband bought the Gottschalk house, and then she lived with them full time until her death.25
Wilhelmina appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, G in the household of her daughter Cora and her husband, John Herman Niemann.52
