Narrative:

Sara Matilda Reigel was born on 2 Dec 1897 in La Center, Clark Co., WashingtonG.4,5,6 She was known to family as Sadie Mat.3,15,16
     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chelatchie, Clark Co., Washington, G in the household of her parents, Ralph Orzben Reigel and Edith Jennie Roberts.17
     She moved to OregonG with her parents about 1908, when they took up homesteading there, having first lived for a time in Idaho. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Silver Lake, Lake Co., Oregon G, in the household of her parents.18
     Sara married Vernon Ray Hall, son of Don Carlos Hall and Martha Ellen Emert, on 31 Oct 1918 in Waterville, Douglas Co., WashingtonG, with Rev. George E. Heineck officiating.7,8,9
     Sara and Vernon moved to OregonG, where her parents were living, soon after their marriage. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., Oregon G, enumerated 22 Jan 1920, reporting that they were renting their home. Their son Vincent was listed as living with them, as where as his parents.19
     Sara and Vernon and their two sons moved back to WashingtonG by 1930. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington G, at 1429 57th St, enumerated 21 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home worth $2500, and did not have a radio. Their children Vincent and Clifford were listed as living with them.20 Elizabeth Delia Reigel spend her summers with her father and the school years with her aunt, Sara.21
     Sara and Vernon appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington, at 4122 S. M St. G, enumerated 5 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $22 per month.22
     Sara and Vernon moved to Skamania Co.G about 1949. They appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of North Bonneville, Skamania Co., Washington, at East 3rd St. G, enumerated 17 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm, and they had lived in Pierce Co. the year before.23
     Sara was living in Roseburg, OregonG, in 1955.24
     Sara applied for a Social Security Number 13 Aug 1963, while living at 7227 Martin Way, Olympia, WashingtonG.25
     Her husband died on 1 Sep 1978 in Pierce Co., WashingtonG.26,27
     Sara died on 5 Sep 1979 in Ashland, Jackson Co., OregonG, at age 81, while visiting her sister Juanita.10,11,12 She was buried in Tacoma, Pierce Co., WashingtonG.13,14

Narrative:

Bessie Regina Reigel was born on 8 Jun 1900 in La Center, Clark Co., WashingtonG.4,5,6,7 Bessie and Bennie Rolland were twins.
     She moved to OregonG with her parents about 1908, when they took up homesteading there, having first lived for a time in Idaho. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Silver Lake, Lake Co., Oregon, G in the household of her parents.18 She moved to Deschutes Co., OregonG, with her parents, probably before 1917.
     Bessie married first Frank Edwin Martz, son of Edwin C. Martz and Elizabeth Dreher, on 29 Jul 1917 in Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., OregonG.8,9,10
     Bessie and Frank moved to Portland, OregonG, after their marriage. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon G, at 1153 Corbett St., enumerated 6 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home.19
     Bessie and Frank moved a number of times in the following years. They had children born in Salem and Tillamook, Oregon, before they settled in Jackson Co., OregonG, by 1927. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon G, at 115 Church St., enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family rented it's home for $12 per month, and did not own a radio. Their children Frank, Edith, Donald, and Bessiepearl were listed as living with them.20
      By 1940 they had moved back to WashingtonG. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Pullman, Whitman Co., Washington G, at 210 Harrison, enumerated 22 Apr 1940, reporting that they were renting their home, for $25 per month, and had lived in Ashland, Oregon in 1935. Their children Edith, Donald, and Bessiepearl were listed as living with them, as was her cousin, Ernest Arthur Reigel.21
     Bessie and Frank were divorced after 1940.11,12
     Bessie appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Aberdeen, Grays Harbor Co., Washington, at 219 N H St. G, enumerated 6 Apr 1950, as one of four roomers in the household of Charles A. Borum and his wife.22
     Bessie married second Georg Samuel Elmgren, son of Fredrik Elmgren and Helena Emilia Kjellander, on 28 Jul 1953 in Kitsap Co., WashingtonG, with E. Jull, justice of the peace, offciating.13,14
     After their marriage Bessie and Georg lived at 516½ Minor Ave. North, SeattleG.23,24 They moved to 3619 Corliss Ave.G about 1960.25
     Georg died on 7 Mar 1976 in Seattle, WashingtonG.26,27,28
     Bessie died on 30 Aug 1977 in Deer Lodge Co., MontanaG, at age 77.15,16,17

Bennie Rolland Reigel was born on 8 Jun 1900 in La Center, Clark Co., WashingtonG.4,5,6 Bennie and Bessie Regina were twins.
     He moved to OregonG with his parents about 1908, when they took up homesteading there, having first lived for a time in Idaho. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Silver Lake, Lake Co., Oregon, G in the household of his parents.17
     He moved to Deschutes Co., OregonG, with his parents, probably before 1917. He registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living in Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., OregonG, reporting he was a student.2 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., Oregon G, in the household of his parents.18
     Bennie moved to CaliforniaG in 1930, before his parents.19
     Bennie appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Fresno Co., California G, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting that he rented his home for $5 per month, and owned a radio.20 He was a laborer at a fruit farm.21
     Bennie married Doris Leona Pendleton, daughter of Ralph Howard Pendleton and Minnie Irene Arnold, on 20 Sep 1933.7,8,9
     Bennie and Doris moved to Orland, Glenn Co.G, where his parents were then living, by 1934 when their daughter was born there.
     Bennie applied for a Social Security Number 2 Feb 1937, while living at Rt. 3 Box 37, Orland, Glenn Co., CaliforniaG, where he was employed by Poultry Producers of Central California.3
     Bennie and Doris moved to Yolo Co.G between 1937 and 1940.22 They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dunnigan, Yolo Co., California G, enumerated 25 Apr 1940, reporting they were living on a farm and paying no rent. Their daughter Monna was listed as living with them.23
     He was a laborer on a ranch in 1940. That year he reported working 30 hours the last week of March, and 32 weeks the prior year, earning $175.24
     Bennie registered for the draft for World War II on 14 Feb 1942, while living at 1439 2nd, Forest Park, Kitsap Co., WashingtonG, reporting he was employed by the Supply Dept. at Bremerton.25
     Bennie and Doris were divorced in Dec 1943 in Kitsap Co., WashingtonG.10,11,12
     After being rejected for military service, Bennie and his brother Adin worked at the shipyards in Bremerton, WashingtonG, during World War II.26,27
     Bennie moved to Santa Cruz, CaliforniaG, where his parents were living, by 1950. He appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Co., California, at 1000 Capitola Rd. G, enumerated 21 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm, but on over three acres and he lived in the same house the year before. His 17-year-old niece Betty, daughter of his younger brother Adin, was listed as living with him. His father's brother Forest was listed as living in a trailer on the same property, andy his parents were listed as living nearby, at 990 Capitola Rd.28
     He was a contractor doing job plowing in 1950, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 20 hours the prior week. He also reported working 21 weeks in 1949, earning $1,087 in wages or salary.29
     Bennie moved to 1715 Capitola Rd. by 1953, when he was living with his parents there.30,31,32 He and his parents moved to 1037 17th Ave.G about 1954.33,34 Bennie moved to 800 Willow, San JoseG, by 1956, and by 1961 had moved to Los Gatos.35
     By 1953 he was a laundry worker in Santa CruzG. By 1956 he was working at the Willows Laundry in San Jose. By 1961 he was laundry manager at the Montgomery Hotel there in Santa CruzG.36,35
     He retired in 1962 and moved to Ashland, Oregon, living at 743 B. St.37
     Bennie died on 14 May 1963 in Ashland, Jackson Co., OregonG, at age 62.13,14,15 He was buried on 17 May 1963 in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland, Jackson Co., OregonG.16

Narrative:

Adin Ralph Reigel was born on 21 Sep 1905 in Lewiston, IdahoG.4,5,6
     He moved to OregonG with his parents about 1908, when they took up homesteading there, having first moving to Washington when they returned there. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Silver Lake, Lake Co., Oregon, G in the household of his parents.18 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., Oregon G, in the household of his parents.19
     Adin married Jessie Myrtle Welburn, daughter of Samuel James Welburn and Jennie Eldora Stingley, on 23 Nov 1929 in Medford, OregonG, with W. H. Eaton offciating.7,8,9
     Adin and Jessie Myrtle Welburn appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon G, at 160 Nob Hill St., enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home for $15 per month, and did not have a radio. The household included a roomer, a 73 year old widow who was a practical nurse.20
     He reported his occupation as a fireman at a steam laundry in the 1930 census in Ashland, Oregon.20
     Adin and Jessie moved to Orland, CaliforniaG, by 1932, when their daughter was born.21,22
     Adin and Jessie separated about 1935.23
     Adin returned to OregonG by 1935. He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon, at 3 Mead G, enumerated 27 Apr 1940, reporting he owned a home valued at $200, and had lived in the same town in 1935. He is shown as absent at the time, and sharing his home with W. Hugh Stewart, a 30-year-old highway worker.24
     He reported in the 1940 census that he had worked 29 weeks in the prior year and had earned $690, but at what occupation is not recorded.24
     Adin registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 1105 Oak St., Ashland, Jackson Co., OregonG, reporting he was employed by the State Highway Commission.2 He later worked in fruit orchards near Orland and then Corning, California.25
     He was called up for the draft, and left 6 May 1942 for Portland, OregonG, with 14 other men for final examination for admittance into the U.S. Army. He was apparently rejected for the service.26
     Adin and Jessie were divorced on 29 Sep 1942 in Coos Co., OregonG. He had filed a petition 31 Jul 1942 on grounds she had deserted him 15 Jul 1941. She did not contest.10,11,12
      He reported to his draft board in Feb 1943 that he was living in Corning, CaliforniaG.27 He reported to his draft board in Aug 1943 that he was living in West End Dormitory in Bremerton, WashingtonG.27
     After being rejected for military service, Adin and his brother Bennie worked at the shipyards in Bremerton, WashingtonG, during World War II.25,28 After the War he worked for the Oregon highway department, painting lines on the state's highways.25
     Adin moved to Santa Cruz, California, where his parents were then living, by 1948.29 He worked in the laundry business there. In 1948 he was foreman at Ivory Service, a laundry. He reported in the 1950 census he was a wringer man, and had worked 40 hours the prior week. He also reported working 50 weeks in 1949, earning $2,750 in wages or salary.30,31,32
     Adin appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of San Jose, Santa Clara Co., California, at 800 Willow St. G, enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm and he lived in Santa Cruz Co., California the year before.33
     Adin died on 4 Dec 1955 in 1037 17th Ave., Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Co., CaliforniaG, at age 50.13,14 He was buried on 7 Dec 1955 in I.O.O.F Cemetery, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Co., CaliforniaG.15,16,17

George F. Reigel was born on 17 Nov 1909 in Arrow, OregonG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Silver Lake, Lake Co., Oregon, G in the household of his parents, Ralph Orzben Reigel and Edith Jennie Roberts.19
     He moved to Deschutes Co., OregonG, with his parents, probably before 1917. He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Terrebonne, Deschutes Co., Oregon G, in the household of his parents.20
     George moved to Jackson Co., OregonG, with his parents by 1930.21 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ashland, Jackson Co., Oregon G, in the household of his parents.22
     George married first Helen Doris Madden, daughter of Arthur Allen Madden and Nellie May Roughton, on 11 Mar 1934 in Jackson Co., OregonG.7,8,9
     George and Helen moved to northern CaliforniaG by 1935. George applied for a Social Security Number 1 Dec 1936, while living at Hilt, CaliforniaG, where he was employed by Fruit Growers Supply Company.3
     George and Helen appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Hilt, Siskiyou Co., California G, enumerated 18 Apr 1940, reporting that they rented their home, for $9 per month, and had lived in rural Siskiyou Co. in 1935. Their children Wylin and Richard were listed as living with them.23
     He was a machinist, working in a box factory in 1940 and reporting he had worked 42 hours the last week of weeks the March and 52 weeks the previous year, earning $1,836.23,24
     George registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at Hilt, Siskiyou Co., CaliforniaG, reporting he was employed by Fruit Growers Supply Company in Hilt.25
     George and Helen moved to Medford, Oregon, by 1942, when they were living at 128 Wimer.26
     In MedfordG George worked for Medford Corporation, variously identifying his occupation as welder and mill worker. He reported in the 1950 census he had not worked the prior week and was not looking for work. He also reported working 44 weeks in 1949, earning $3,500 in wages or salary.27,28,29
     George and Helen were divorced on 3 Mar 1945 in Jackson Co., OregonG, after she filed on Feb 1945, on grounds of cruelty. He did not contest.10,11,12
     George appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Medford, Jackson Co., Oregon, at 909 G, enumerated 25 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm and he lived in the same house the year before. He sharing the home with Royal Klumph, owner of a juke box company.30
     He was active in union affairs. He was elected conductor of the AFL Northwestern Council of Lumber and Sawmill workers and installed at their meeting in Portland on 17 Dec 1951 in Medford, OregonG.31
     George married second Juanita Iola Harshfield, daughter of Loren T. Harshfield and Gertrude Brown, on 28 Jun 1952 in Medford, Jackson Co., OregonG, with Meredith A. Groves officiating. She had previously been married to William Roscoe Vance.13,14
     Juanita died on 19 Feb 1970 in Jackson Co., OregonG.32,33
     George died on 11 Aug 1974 in Sequim, Clallam Co., WashingtonG, at age 64.15,16 He was buried on 20 Aug 1974 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, Jackson Co., OregonG.17,18
