Ralph Howard Pendleton was born on 8 Aug 1870 in Clermont, Fayette Co., IowaG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Pleasant Valley Twp., Fayette Co., Iowa, G in the household of his parents, Daniel Pendleton and Philena Triff. He appeared on the 1885 State Census of Pleasant Valley Twp., Fayette Co., IowaG, in the household of his parents.18
     Ralph married Minnie Irene Arnold, daughter of Willis L. Arnold and Margaret Beck, on 29 Aug 1897 in Rock Rapids, Lyon Co., IowaG.7,8,9
     Ralph and Minnie appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pleasant Valley Twp., Fayette Co., Iowa G, enumerated 23 Jun 1900, reporting that they rented their home.19
     Ralph and Minnie moved to MinnesotaG by 1903, then to North Dakota by 1905. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G, enumerated 3 May 1910, reporting that the family owned its farm. Their children Sybol, Ralph, and Lucile were listed as living with them.20
     Ralph and Minnie appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G, enumerated 20 Jan 1920, reporting that the family owned its home. Their children Ralph, Lucile, Paul, and Doris were listed as living with them.21
     Ralph and Minnie appeared on the 1925 State Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G. Their children Paul and Doris were listed as living with them.22
     Ralph and Minnie were divorced before 1929.10,11,12
     Ralph married second Mildred Ione Dell, daughter of Eddie Dell and Christina Montgomery, on 7 Feb 1929 in Rock Rapids, Lyon Co., IowaG, with Rev. Harry M. Burns officiating.13,14
     Ralph and his second family have not been found in the 1930 census, but were apparently still living in Williams Co., North DakotaG, as their son was born there in late 1929. When he moved to Oregon is not known. He has not been found in the 1940 census either. His second wife and two sons were then living with her family in Cass Co., North Dakota.
     He was a day laborer in 1900, but had become a farmer on his own farm by 1910. By 1929 he had become a merchant.23,24,25,26
     Ralph died on 4 Oct 1945 in Grant Co., OregonG, at age 75.15,16 He was buried in Canyon City Cemetery, Canyon City, Grant Co., OregonG.17

Minnie Irene Arnold was born on 12 Dec 1875 in Dakota TerritoryG.5,6,7 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Dell Rapids, Minnehaha Co., Dakota Territory, G in the household of her parents, Willis L. Arnold and Margaret Beck.16
     Minnie married Ralph Howard Pendleton, son of Daniel Pendleton and Philena Triff, on 29 Aug 1897 in Rock Rapids, Lyon Co., IowaG.8,9,10
     Minnie and Ralph appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Pleasant Valley Twp., Fayette Co., Iowa G, enumerated 23 Jun 1900, reporting that they rented their home.17
     Minnie and Ralph moved to MinnesotaG by 1903, then to North Dakota by 1905. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G, enumerated 3 May 1910, reporting that the family owned its farm. Their children Sybol, Ralph, and Lucile were listed as living with them.18
     Minnie and Ralph appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G, enumerated 20 Jan 1920, reporting that the family owned its home. Their children Ralph, Lucile, Paul, and Doris were listed as living with them.19
     Minnie and Ralph appeared on the 1925 State Census of Marshall Twp., Williams Co., North Dakota G. Their children Paul and Doris were listed as living with them.20
     Minnie and Ralph were divorced before 1929.11,12,13
     Minnie moved to OregonG between 1925 and 1930. She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Woodlburn, Marion Co., Oregon G, enumerated 21 Apr 1930, in the household of Robert and Sadie Knapp, where she is listed as a maid for the family.21
     Minnie appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Douglas Co., Oregon G, in the household of, her daughter Lucile and her husband, Ernest C. Bryant. She reported, like them, that she had lived in a rural area of the same county in 1935.22
     Minnie died on 17 Mar 1946 in Yakima, Yakima Co., WashingtonG, at age 70.14,5 She was buried in Terrace Heights Memorial Park, Yakima, Yakima Co., WashingtonG.15
