     Alice graduated from pubic shools in 1916, then attended Normal. She then taught school for three years.12
     She worked the year before her marriage in the office of the Moody Bible Institute, in Chicago. G The Institue is a Christian institution of higher education, founded by evangelist and businessman Dwight Lyman Moody in 1886. It continues to operate today.12,13
     Alice married William Theodore Shols, son of Erasmus Ross Shols and Louise Marie Wienand, on 6 Jun 1923 in Evangelical Church, Chatsworth, Livingston Co., IllinoisG. Rev. Edward George Vaubel of Downer's Grove, husband of her cousin Catherine Angelia Glabe, officiated. William was elder brother of the man her sister Seberta would marry three years later, and first cousin of the man her sister Eva had married three years prior.6,7,8

     William and Laura moved nearly 150 miles southwest, to Tazewell Co.G, by 1935. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois G, enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $1,000. Their children Phyllis and Kenneth were listed as living with them, and all were reported to have lived in rural Tazewell Co. in 1935. Their son LeRoy and his family were apparently living nearby as they are listed as the preceding household.20
     By 1940 he was a laborer at a Caterpillar Tractor manufacturing plant. That year he reported he had work 40 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,450.20 He registered for the draft for World War II, while living at Washington, IllinoisG, reporting he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co.21 He retired from Caterpillar in 1949.11
     He was a carpenter building houses by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 15 hours the prior week.22

     Orville registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at Tuttle, Grandy Co., OklahomaG, reporting he was employed as a farmer, working for J. L. Campbell in Tuttle. He claimed exemption for a "bad side." He also claimed his mother was solely dependent on him, but the registrar added a note "not the case she takes care of him."1
     Orville enlisted in the U.S. Army in World War II, 1 Jun 1918. He served in the 57th Infanty Supply Co., with a rank of wagoner. He was discharged 31 Mar 1919.2,17

     When his grandmother died she had left a large amount of property to be divided between her three children, including Orville's father. Revilo, another son, had produced another will in which he was the primary beneficiary. The Livingston circuit court found this will invalid, and Revilo appealed. With the death of his father, Orville pursued the case to the Illinois Supreme Court, which on 15 Oct 1930 rejected the appeal, thus upholding the equal division of the property.19
     Title to his grandfather's 4,000 acres had passed out of the family after his death in 1881. In 1934 Orville bought 80 acres of that land from the company that had taken title to in during the depression Nine years later he bought an additional 440 acres of his grandfather's original holding and built a new home on it.15
      In 1930 he reported his occupation as a salesman selling retail feed, but apparently his primary interest was his farm.20 He developed a farm known for raising Aberdeen-Angus cattle and Belgian horses. He sold most of that livestock in Feb 1946.21,15

     He moved to Indian TerritoryG with his parents about 1902. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Tuttle Twp., Grandy Co., Oklahoma, G in the household of his parents.19
     Bert enlisted in the U.S. Army 21 Sep 1914. He was supposedly discharged 12 Jun 1919.20 However, he appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Fort Kamehamcha, Honolulu Co., Hawaii Territory G, enumerated 4 Jan 1920, at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps barracks. He is listed as a soldier chauffeur.21
     Bert married first Ruth Katherine Glabe, daughter of Sebastian Glabe and Anna Katherine Ruppel, on 5 Sep 1923 in Chatsworth, Livingston Co., IllinoisG, with Rev. George Woodley officiating.6,7,8

     William married first Cecil M. McBride on 29 Mar 1911 in Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KansasG, with W. R. Russell, probate judge, officiating.6,7,8
     William and Cecil appeared on the 1915 State Census of Walnut Twp., Bourbon Co., KansasG, reporting they were renting their home. Their daughter Lela was listed as living with them.16
