     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Lorance Twp., Bollinger Co., Missouri, G in the household of her parents, Peter Bess and Catherine Shell.13
     Nettie married Harvey Sebastian Glabe, son of John Glabe and Elizabeth Ruppel, on 21 Feb 1906 in Chatsworth, Livingston Co., IllinoisG, with Rev. A. H. Zahl officiating.7,8,9
     Nettie and Harvey moved to KansasG about 1909. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Rosalia Twp., Butler Co., Kansas G, enumerated 11 May 1910, reporting that they owned their farm, mortgage free. Their children LaVerna and Fern were listed as living with them.14
     Nettie and Harvey moved to IndianaG before 1919. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Monon Twp., White Co., Indiana G, enumerated 3 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their farm, mortgage free. Their children LaVerna, Fern, and David were listed as living with them.15
     Nettie and Harvey moved to Valparaiso, some 50 miles north, by 1924, where they lived at 607 N. Valparaiso.16 They moved to Flint, Michigan by 1927, when they were living at 722 W. Cornell.17 They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 2716 Wolcott G, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $1,000. Their children David and Mary were listed as living with them.18
     Nettie and Harvey appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 1122 Decker St. G, enumerated 2 Apr 1940, reporting that they owned a home valued at $3,000. Their children David and Mary were listed as living with them, They reported everyone had lived in the same house in 1935.19
     Nettie was a cook in public schools by 1930. In the 1940 census she reported she had not worked the last week of March, but had worked 16 weeks in 1939, earning $200.20,19
     Nettie and Harvey moved to Los Angeles Co., California by 1944, when they were living at 872 W. Walnut Ave., Monrovia.21 They appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of South Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 2642 Washington G, enumerated 10 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before. John Lagothetis, age 65 and from Greece, was listed as a boarder in the household.22
     Nettie died on 29 Dec 1956 in Long Beach, CaliforniaG, at age 72.10,11 She was buried in Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG.12

     Eugene and LaVerna appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Burbank, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1420 Buena Vista G, enumerated 20 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their daughter was listed as living with them.26
     Eugene and LaVerna had moved to Riverside, California by 1955 , when they were living at 2725 Tyler.27 In RiversideG he taught at Sherman Institute, later called Sherman Indian High School. It is an off-reservation boarding high school for Native Americans operated by the Bureau of Indian Education/Bureau of Indian Affairs.28,29

     Fern and LeRoy appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 1025 Simcoe Ave. G, enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $6,000, and owned a radio. It appears they were renting a portion of the home to Fred Noble and his wife, for $40 per month.23
     Fern and LeRoy adopted Harold Douglas Carpp between 1930 and 1935.24,25
      LeRoy sued Fern for divorce in Genesee Co., MichiganG, on grounds of extreme cruelty. The divorce was granted 28 Jan 1935, with alimony of $1, a property settlement, and he was given custody of their adopted son.10
      After her divorce, Fern took back her maiden name, and returned to school. She was attending Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University), in Ypsilanti in 1939.26
     By 1941 she had returned to her parent's home in FlintG, and was working as an organist.27
     Fern married second Howard Eugene Branham, son of Charles N. Branham and Esther Amelia Winberg, on 19 Jul 1941 in Detroit, Wayne Co., MichiganG, with Rev. Edward W. Raimer offciating. He had previously been married to Ruth K. Zackman.11,12
      Howard sued Fern for divorce in Battle Creek, Calhoun Co., MichiganG, on grounds of extreme cruelty, accusing her of infidelity. The divorce was granted 3 Dec 1945, with no alimony.13,14
      Family sources state that Fern next married a Mr. Adderman, but no documentation of that marriage has been found.15 They lived in WyomingG after their marriage, according to family lore.28
     Fern married fourth Perry Temple Fallis, son of Perry White Fallis and Leonora Hayne Wells, before 1958 in Detroit, MichiganG. He was the widower of Gwendolyn Myrtle Hammond.17,18
     According to family lore, Fern and Perry moved to San Antonio, TexasG, for a time, where they ran a hamburger stand, and later moved to southern California.28 When that might have been is unclear, however, as they were registered to vote with his previous address, 4637 Lakewood Blvd., Los AngelesG, in 1958, 1960, and 1962.29
     Her husband died on 5 Oct 1963 in Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG.30
     Fern died on 23 Jul 1998 at age 89.4,19 She was buried in Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG, next to her parents.16

     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Monon Twp., White Co., Indiana, G in the household of his parents, Harvey Sebastian Glabe and Nettie Lou Bess.19
     He moved to Michigan with his parents in 1927.20 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, G in the household of his parents.21
     David graduated from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MichiganG, in 1933 with a degree in aeronautical engineering.22 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, G in the household of his parents.23
     David registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 1122 Decker St., Flint, Genesee Co., MichiganG, reporting he was employed by A. C. Sparkplug Company.3
     He was an elevator operator in an office building by 1937. In the 1940 census he reported that he had worked 30 hours the last week of March, and had worked 52 weeks in 1939, earning $540.24,23
     He was a machinist for AC Spark Plug by 1941.25

     At some point after their marriage, Ovalee obtained information leading her to believe that David's divorce from his first wife was not legally valid. So to satisfy her concerns he obtained another divorce and they remarried. Afterward it was learned the first divorce was in fact valid.30 David and Sarah were divorced again in Sep 1959.14 David and Ovalee remarried on 12 Dec 1960 in King Co., WashingtonG, with W. F. Heppenstatt, justice of the peace, officiating.15

Homer Frederick Legree was born on 6 Jun 1918 in Cobalt, OntarioG.4,5,6
     He immigrated to the United StatesG with his parents, Frederick Legree and Margaret J. Kirkland in 1919, while an infant.15,16
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan G, in the household of his parents.15 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan G, in the household of his parents.16 He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan G, in the household of his parents.17
     He was a punch press operator in a spark plug factory in 1940, at age 21. In the 1940 census he reported he had worked 32 hours the last week of March, and had worked 4 weeks the prior year, earning $100 in 1940.17
     Homer registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 524 E. Rankin, Flint, Genesee Co., MichiganG, reporting he was employed by A. C. Spark Plug Co., in Flint.2
     Homer enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army on 26 May 1942, in Detroit, MichiganG.18,19
     Homer married first Mary Louise Glabe, daughter of Harvey Sebastian Glabe and Nettie Lou Bess, on 26 Feb 1943 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., ArkansasG, with Sam J. Spitzberg, justice of the peace, officiating.7,8,9
      Homer was discharged from the Army 6 Dec 1945.20
