     Charles Davis Slaughter was born on 30 Jun 1878 in Molalla, Clackamas Co., Oregon.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clackamas Co., Oregon, in the household of his parents, George T. Slaughter and Hettie M. Inman.7 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Clackamas Co., Oregon, in the household of his parents.8 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Clackamas Co., Oregon, in the household of his parents.22
     He was a farm laborer, presumably on his father's farm, by 1900. By 1910 he was "working out" on other farms, and reported he had been out of work 12 weeks the prior year.23,24,25
     Charles married Anna Marie Schwankler, daughter of Marie Schwenkler, on 4 Oct 1912 in Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, with circuit judge Robert G. Morrow officiating.12,13,14
     After their marriage, Anna moved to Scotts Mills, Oregon, where Charles was living.
     Charles and Anna were divorced, apparently before 1918.15,16
     Charles registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Scotts Mills, Marion Co., Oregon, reporting he was self-employed as a farmer.3
     Charles moved back to neghboring Clackamas Co., where he continued to farm the rest of his life.26,27,28 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Clackamas Co., Oregon, enumerated 23 Jan 1920, reporting he owned his farm, free of mortgage. His son Richard was listed as living with him.29
     Charles appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Marquam, Clackamas Co., Oregon, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting that he owned a farm valued at $2,000. His children Marguerite and Richard were listed as living with him, as was his mother, Hettie M. Inman.27
     He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Marquam, Clackamas Co., Oregon, enumerated 15 May 1940, reporting that he owned a home valued at $800, and had lived in the same house in 1935.28
     Charles registered for the draft for World War II on 26 Apr 1942, while living at Molalla, Clackamas Co., Oregon, reporting he was self-employed.30
     Charles appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Marquam, Clackamas Co., Oregon, at 1000, enumerated 20 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm and he lived in the same house the year before. He also reported he had not worked the prior week and was not looking for work, he had worked one week in 1949, earning $25 in wages, and $10 in interest, dividends, etc..31
     Charles died on 31 Mar 1955 in Oregon City, Clackamas Co., Oregon, at age 76.17,18,19 He was buried on 3 Apr 1955 in Maplewood Pioneer Cemetery, Scotts Mills, Clackamas Co., Oregon.20,21
