     Mary Elizabeth Hendrickson was born on 15 Jun 1883 in Lynchburg, Ohio.6,7,8
     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents, Thompson L. Hendrickson and Henrietta Jones.4
     Mary married William Isaac Brose, son of William Joseph H. Brose and Edna Caroline Shaffer, on 4 Sep 1901 in Highland Co., Ohio, with Rev. G. G. Clark officiating.9,10
     She generally used her middle name, Elizabeth, as an adult.2,3,14
     Elizabeth and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, enumerated 15 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Roy, Clarence, Wilmer and Ervan were listed as living with them, as was Florence Van Meter a 16-year-old servant, and future bride of his younger brother Truman. His parents were apparently living nearby as they were listed as the second following household.15
     Elizabeth and William appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Clark Twp., Clinton Co., Ohio, enumerated 12 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Roy, Clarence, Wilmer, Ervan, Frances, Chester and Margaret were listed as living with them.16
     Elizabeth and William appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Clark Twp., Clinton Co., Ohio, enumerated 12 May 1930, reporting they owned their farm, and did not own a radio. Their children Roy, Clarence, Wilmer, Frances, Chester and Margaret were listed as living with them.17
     William retired from farming between 1935 and 1940, and he and Elizabeth moved to town. He did retain ownership of the farm, which their son Wilmer and his wife and young daughter were living in 1940.18,19 They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lynchburg, Highland Co., Ohio, on Bayless Ave., enumerated 19 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $1,400, and that they had lived in rural Clinton Co., Ohio in 1935.20
     Elizabeth and William appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Lynchburg, Highland Co., Ohio, on James Rd., enumerated 29 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.21
     Her husband died on 17 Aug 1951 in Lynchburg, Ohio.22,23
     Elizabeth died on 14 Mar 1966 in Wilmington, Clinton Co., Ohio, at age 82.11,12 She was buried in Troutwine Cemetery, Lynchburg, Highland Co., Ohio.13
