     Truman Brose was born on 11 Jun 1887 in Brown Co., Ohio.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, William Joseph H. Brose and Edna Caroline Shaffer.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
     He was a farm laborer, presumably on the family farm by 1910.21,22
     Truman married first Florence Van Meter, daughter of Charles W. Van Meter and Anna Burton, on 16 Jul 1910 in Lynchburg, Highland Co., Ohio, with Rev. George Trosth officiating, with the consent of Lee Terrell, her guardian, as she was under age.11,12,13
     He was a motor man on a railway by 1917.23,24 He registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 1435 Germantown, Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as a motorman and the People Railway Company in Dayton.3
     The streetcar that Truman was operating was struck by a Baltimore and Ohio freight train 25 Aug 1920. The conductor had left the car to look for an approaching train but failed to see it. Truman said he saw the freight cars coming as he crossed the tracks and threw on all speed in an effort to reach the other side, but the car was struck broadside. Four passengers were injured, one seriously, and the car was badly damaged.25
     Truman and Florence appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, at 3435 Germantown St., enumerated 9 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. Their children Lola and Harold were listed as living with them.26
     Truman filed a petition for divorce against Florence in Oct 1924 in Montgomery Co., Ohio divorce court. He charged that she "jabbed him in the leg with a butcher knife, threw an aluminum kettle at him, locked him out of the house at night, and wounded his affections by going out with another man." They were listed with separate addresses. Apparently they reconciled as she filed a new petition several years later.27
     Florence was granted a divorce against Truman on 9 Jun 1927 in Highland Co., Ohio.14,15
     Truman married second Frances E. Franer, daughter of William H. Franer and Minnie Amanda Hegel, on 25 Jun 1927 in Newport, Campbell Co., Kentucky, with Fred H. Wendt, justice of the peace, officiating. She had previously been married to William Henry Smart.16,17
     Truman and Frances appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, at 518 Prity Ave., enumerated 14 Apr 1930, reporting they rented their home, for $30 per month, and owned a radio. His children Harold and Ralph by his prior marriage were listed as living with them.28
     Truman and Frances appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, at 1431 Coventry Rd., enumerated 3 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $30 per month, and that they had lived in the same city in 1935. Their daughter and his sons Harold and Ralph was listed as living with them.29
     When streetcars were retired in Dayton, Truman became a city transit bus driver. He reported in 1940 he had worked 56 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,716.30 He registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 2751 Home Ave., Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed by City Railway.31 He reported in the 1950 census he had worked 56 hours the prior week. He also reported working 50 weeks in 1949, earning $4,000 in wages or salary.32
     Truman and Frances appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Jefferson, Montgomery Co., Ohio, at 183 W Carrollton - Soldiers Home Rd., enumerated 24 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before. Their daughter and his son Harold was listed as living with them, as was her mother.33
     Truman died on 7 Feb 1964 in Montgomery Co., Ohio, at age 76.18,19 He was buried in Willow View Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio.20
