     Charles Everett Brose was born on 4 Sep 1877 in Dodsonville, Highland Co., Ohio.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Dodsonville, Highland Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, William Joseph H. Brose and Edna Caroline Shaffer.4 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, William Joseph H. Brose and Edna Caroline Shaffer.5
     He was a farm laborer, presumably on the family farm by 1900.23
     Charles married first Bessie Gertrude Warman, daughter of James H. Warman and Isabelle Baker, on 25 Mar 1903 in Highland Co., Ohio, with Rev. J. W. Keise officiating.11,12
     He was a farmer on his own by 1910, but by 1920 was working as a farm laborer again.24,25
     Charles and Bessie appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, enumerated 30 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Merle, Myrtle, Audie and James were listed as living with them.26
     Charles filed suit for divorce from Bessie in Highland Co., Ohio, Common Pleas Court in May 1912, on the grounds of adultery. He charged that on 12 Apr 1912 she went to Dayton, where she was living in practically open adultery with Robert E. Reeves. He asked for divorce and that she be enjoined from interfering with the possession of their four children. The divorce was subsequently granted.13,14
     Charles married second Jennie Catherine Groves, daughter of Solomon Groves and Ruth Ann Hakes, on 4 Sep 1915 in Highland Co., Ohio, with Rev. B. F. Smith officiating. She had previously been married to Lawrence Martin and Elijah Elsworth Wilson.15,16,17
     Charles registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 128 Catherine, Hillsboro, Highland Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as a teamster, for Walter Hogan in Milford, Ohio.2
     Charles and Jennie appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Liberty Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, on Haub Rd., enumerated 6 Jan 1920, reporting they rented their home. His children by his prior marriage, Merle, Myrtle, Audie and James, were listed as living with them, as was his father.27
     Charles and Jennie moved to Montgomery Co. before 1930. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, at 1529 Richard St., enumerated 6 Apr 1930, reporting they rented their home, for $30 per month, and did not own a radio. His children Merle, Myrtle and James were listed as living with them.28
     He was a millwright at a wooden box plant by 1930.29
     Charles and Jennie returned before 1940. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, on May Hill Rd., enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $8 per month, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935.30
     He was a farmer by 1940, reporting in 1940 he had worked hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year.31 Charles registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at Jackson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, reporting he was self employed.32 He retired by 1950, when he reported in the census he had not worked the prior week and was not looking for work.33
     Charles and Jennie appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, enumerated 6 Apr 1950, reporting they lived on a farm. Her 14-year-old nephew James Groves was listed as living with them.33
     His second wife died on 16 Jul 1955 in Highland Co., Ohio.34,35,36
     Charles died on 7 Dec 1957, at the home of his daughter, Myrtle, in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, at age 80.18,19 He was buried on 14 Dec 1957 in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio.20,21,22
