Narrative:

Albert Hoffmann was born in Jul 1850 in Frankfurt, Bavaria.6,7,8
Albert immigrated with his parents, John Hoffmann and Mary [surname unknown] in 1858.16 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.17
His mother died between 1860 and 1870, apparently, as she did not appear with the family in the 1870 census. Albert would have been between 10 and 19 years old.18
He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his father.19
He was a teamster in 1870, and an express driver by 1880.20,21,22
Albert appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, on Tremont St., enumerated 7 Jun 1880, living with his brother Louis, his wife and their children, and his sister Mary. The home was apparently close to the one his future wife was living in, as that household was listed next on the census record.23
Albert married Angeline Hartwig, daughter of Harmon Jacob Hartwig and Marie Sophie Charlotte Geltmeyer, on 25 Oct 1881 in St. Peter's Reformed Cemetery, Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, with Rev. P. H. Dippell officiating.9,10,11
Albert and Angeline settled in Cincinnati after their marriage. They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 1717 Harrison Ave., enumerated 1 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their home. Their children Carl, Alvion, Herman and Oscar were listed as living with them.24
Albert died on 9 Feb 1906 in Cincinnati, Ohio, at age 55, from a fall down a stairway, having one artificial leg.12,13 He was buried on 11 Feb 1906 in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.14,15
