     Charles R. Jackson was born on 11 Sep 1873 in Whitley Co., Indiana.7,8,9
     He moved to Huntington Co. with his parents before 1880. He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Jackson, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents, Franklin M. Jackson and Sarah Dinius.4
     Charles moved to Huntington as a young man.15
     Charles married Daisy May Kuhlmann, daughter of Nathan Henry Kuhlman and Mary C. Glick, on 16 Sep 1895 in Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, with Rev. Henry L. Nave officiating.10,11,9
     Charles and Daisy appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, at 74 Whitelock St., enumerated 22 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their home. Their son Donald was listed as living with them, as was Edward Dinius, apparently a relative of his mother, who was listed as a boarder.16

     He was a blacksmith when he married, and a locomotive fireman by 1900. He then worked for the United Telephone Company as a lineman.17,18,19
     The manager of the telephone company, James H. Hessin, became the manager of the Burlington, Pontiac & Joliet Electric Railway Company. He offered Charles a position with that company as a lineman, and he began work there in Oct 1906, headquartered Pontiac, Illinois.5
     With his new job there, Charles and Daisy and their three children moved to Pontiac, Illinois, in Oct 1906, but had not set up permanent housekeeping there before she and the children returned to Huntington in January for a visit with her parents and his. She was planning on moving permanently to Pontiac in Feburary.5
     On 11 Feb 1907 Charles was working on the overhead lines with an assistant, on a portable tower about 15 feet high. He came in contact with a live 3,300 volt line, and was thrown off the tower, landing on his head. Effort to revive him failed after an hour.5
     Charles died on 11 Feb 1907 in Pontiac, Illinois, at age 33.12,13 He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana.14
