Frederick Michael Kuhlman was born on 26 May 1866 in Huntington, Indiana.8,9,10He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents, Frederick Kuhlman and Varena Long.19 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents.5
Frederick moved to Oklahoma Territory about 1889, following his brother William who had moved there about two months before.20 They appeared on the 1890 Territorial Census of Oklahoma, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., enumerated 16 Jun 1890. They were listed as boarders in an unidentified establishment.21
Frederick and William both moved to Texas about 1892 and to Fort Worth two years later.22,23
Frederick appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, in the household of Mary Caroline Hendrex, listed as one of three boarders in the household. Daisy, his future wife, then seven years old, was one of her three daughters also in the household.24
He was a plasterer, like his father and grandfather before him.25
Frederick appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, in the household of Mary Caroline Hendrex, listed as one of three roomers.26
By 1910 he had become a contractor, doing both street paving and building construction.27,28,29

Frederick married Daisy M. Askew, daughter of William Henry Askew and Mary Caroline Hendrex, on 31 Mar 1914 in Ft. Worth, Texas, with Rev. William Caldwell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, at the parsonage. Only immediate relatives of hers were present.11,12,13
Frederick was named an heir in the will of his father dated 5 Jul 1918, in which he was to receive an equal share in the estate with his seven siblings.31
Frederick and Daisy appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, at 1800 Washington, enumerated 7 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Frederick and William were listed as living with them, as was her mother, and a Robert Kuhlman, age 26, who was listed as a brother, but no such brother has been identified.32
Frederick and Daisy appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, at 1800 Washington Ave., enumerated 17 Apr 1930, reporting they owned a home valued at $6,000, and owned a radio. Their children Frederick and William were listed as living with them, as was her mother.33
By 1930 he focused his efforts on his roots as a plasterer, calling himself a plastering contractor. In 1940, about the time he retired, he reported he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 12 weeks the prior year.34,35,36,37
Frederick and Daisy appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, at 1800 Washington Ave., enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,000, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Their son William was listed as living with them, as was her mother.38
Frederick died on 24 Feb 1947, at his home, 1800 Washington Ave., Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, at age 80.14,15,16 He was buried on 25 Feb 1947 in Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas.17,18
