Lillie Davis Bouldin was born on 3 Dec 1881 in Oak Hill, Kansas.8,9,10 She appeared on the 1885 State Census of Chapman Twp., Clay Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents, John T. Bouldin and Letitia Meade.13 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Oakland Twp., Clay Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents.5Lillie married Robert Emmett Mims, son of Linah C. Mims and Susan Elizabeth Howe, and brother of the man her older sister Annie had married six years before, on 25 Jun 1902 in Channing Methodist Church, Channing, Texas. They were the first couple married in the church.11,12,10
Years later she recounted the story of how she was in the kitchen on the LE Ranch and heard "How!" in a booming voice behind her. Turning, she saw a tall Indian at the door and about 25 painted Indians on their horses in the yard. She screamed and her husband appeared from the orchard were he has been working. While they had "scared me to death" she said, they were traveling from Oklahoma Territory to New Mexico Territory to hunt, and only wanted food and water.14
Lillie and Robert appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hartley Co., Texas, enumerated 30 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Robert and Otho were listed as living with them.15
By 1918 Lillie and Robert had moved about as far south as they could, to the southern Texas coast.
Lillie and Robert returned to north Texas between 1918 and 1920, settling in Dallam Co. Lillie and Robert appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Dalhart, Dallam Co., Texas, on Denver Ave., enumerated 20 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Robert and Otho were listed as living with them, as were her brother Charles, and Ben Robert Gill, listed as a roomer.16
By 1921 Lillie and Robert had moved to Arizona, where they were living at 925 10th St., Douglas.17
Lillie and Robert moved to California by 1925 when they were living in Fullerton, where he was an oil worker.18 By the time the 1930 city directory was compiled they had moved to Brea and were living at 313 South Walnut Ave.. Both their sons, and Otho's wife, were listed as living with them.19
Lillie and Robert appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Brea, Orange Co., California, at 313 South Walnut Ave., enumerated 9 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $2,000, but did not own a radio. Both sons had apparently moved by then as they were not listed in the census.20
Lillie and Robert moved to San Pedro by 1934, when they were living at 1147 Marine Ave.21
They apparently returned to the Texas Panhandle very soon after the death of their eldest son, in 1935, this time settling in Amarillo.22 They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at 1609A Fillmore St., enumerated 17 Apr 1940, reporting that they were renting their home, for $16 per month, and had lived in Amarillo in 1935.23
Her husband died on 1 Aug 1944 in 1611 Fillmore St., Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas.24
Lillie died on 19 Dec 1959 in Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at age 78.6 She was buried on 21 Dec 1959 in Llano Cemetery.6
