Annie Delores Bouldin was born on 28 Aug 1879 in Oakfield, Kansas.8,9,10 She was widely known by the nickname Della, using it even on legal documents, including her marriage records.16,17,18She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Chapman Twp., Clay Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents, John T. Bouldin and Letitia Meade.4 She appeared on the 1885 State Census of Chapman Twp., Clay Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents.19
Annie married first Otho William Mims, son of Linah C. Mims and Susan Elizabeth Howe, and brother of the man her younger sister Lillie would marry six years later, on 22 Jul 1897 in Hartley Co., Texas.11,12,13
Annie and Otho appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Hartley Co., Texas, enumerated 30 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their daughter Lethitia was listed as living with them.20 She witnessed the marriage of Lillie Davis Bouldin and Robert Emmett Mims on 25 Jun 1902 in Channing Methodist Church, Channing, Texas.21,22,23
Annie and Otho appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hartley Co., Texas, enumerated 28 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Lethitia, Lanette, Irene, Marguerite and Dawson were listed as living with them.24
Annie and Otho moved to Amarillo between 1918 and 1920. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at 1510 Lincoln St., enumerated 2 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Irene, Marguerite, Dawson and Amanda were listed as living with them, as were three lodgers, Fred Webber and Hal Thomas, Western Union operators, and Charlie Burnick, a railroad breakman.25
Annie and Otho moved to Dallam Co. before 1930. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dalhart, Dallam Co., Texas, at 722 Scott Ave., enumerated 5 Apr 1930, reporting they were renting their home, for $35 per month, and did not own a radio. Their children Marguerite, Dawson and Amanda were listed as living with them. Marguerite was listed as married, with surname Reid, but her husband was not listed.26
Annie's husband died on 25 Mar 1937 in Dalhart, Dallam Co., Texas.27
Annie and her two youngest children moved back to Amarillo after the death of her husband. She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at 1023 West 15th, enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting she was renting her home, for $35 per month. Her children Dawson and Amanda were listed as living with her. They reported they had lived in Dalhart in 1935. Also listed was a lodger, Esther Allnutt, a secretary for the soil conservation service.28
Annie married second Mel Armstrong, son of Marion Armstrong and Callie Nevada Bell, in late 1946 or early 1947.14,15
Annie died on 11 Apr 1951 in 819 West 13th St., Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at age 71, at her home.6 She was buried on 13 Apr 1951 in Dalhart Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.6
