Narrative:

     Susan Elizabeth Howe was born on 26 Dec 1852 in Macon Co., Georgia.7,8,9 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Grangerville, Macon Co., Georgia, in the household of her parents, William J. Howe and Celia Adline Harp.17 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Douglasville, Davis Co., Texas, in the household of her parents.18
     Susan married Linah C. Mims, son of Davis Russer Mims and Elizabeth Van Swearingen Cresap, on 17 Dec 1871 in Cass Co., Texas.10,11,12
     Susan and Linah appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cass Co., Texas, enumerated 22 Jun 1880. Their children Otho, Robert and Linah were listed as living with them.19
     Susan and Linah moved their familiy to Moore Co., in the northwest corner of the Texas Panhandle, in May 1892. They moved there for her health, as she had been very sickly in Cass Co. and the pure dry air there was supposed to help, and apparently did at least to a degree.20,21
     Susan died on 9 May 1899 in Dumas, Texas, at age 46.13,14,15 She was buried in Douglassville Cemetery, Douglassville, Cass Co., Texas, next to her infant son Claude.16
