     Samuel Flora was born on 18 Sep 1867 in Lake Springs, Missouri.6,7,8,9
     His mother died about 3 Aug 1869, when Samuel was less then two years old.14 Samuel appeared with his father John R. Flora, on the 1870 Federal Census of Watkins Twp., Dent Co., Missouri, in the household of Samuel Hyer Jr. and Naomi Wilson, his late mother's parents.1
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Watkins Twp., Dent Co., Missouri, in the household of his father.2
     Samuel and his brother Lewis were operating their father's farm by 1900, while their father was working as a carpenter.15 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Watkins Twp., Dent Co., Missouri, in the household of his father.15
     Samuel was not with his father in 1910, and his whereabouts have not been determined. By 1920 he had returned to his father's farm and was operating it, with hs father now retired.16 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Watkins Twp., Dent Co., Missouri, in the household of his father.17
     Samuel appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Watkins Twp., Dent Co., Missouri, on Lake Springs Rd., enumerated 14 Apr 1930.18 By 1930 he had take up his father's trade and was working as a carpenter, building houses.19
     Samuel died on 10 Feb 1939 in Rolla, Phelps Co., Missouri, at age 71.10,11 He was buried on 12 Feb 1939 in Lake Spring Cemetery, Lake Springs, Dent Co., Missouri.12,13
