Narrative:

David Lincoln Bond was born on 13 Jul 1881 in West Plains, Missouri.6,7,8
His mother died on 23 Mar 1885, when David was 3 years old.16 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Marion Twp., Ozark, Missouri, in the household of his father, Thomas J. Bond, and stepmother, Susan A. Logan.4
David moved to Washington by 1910. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Aberdeen, Chehalis Co., Washington, at 518 East Market, enumerated 15 Apr 1910, rooming with four others in the home of Margaret T. Shellly.17
David married first Fannie Francis Brandon on 12 Dec 1912 in Vancouver, British Columbia.9,10
David moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, on 3 Jul 1915 to work as a lumberman. On 28 Jun 1917 he registered with the U.S. Consulate there as a native citizen of the United States. He said his legal domicile was Seattle, Washington, and he intended to return to the United States within five years.5
David and Fannie were divorced before 1917.11,12
He registered for the draft for World War I on 6 Sep 1918, reporting his address as 905 Boyston Ave., Seattle, Washington, but registering at Prince Rupert, British Columbia. He reported he was employed as a lumberman at Pacific Mills Limited at Ocean Falls, British Columbia.18 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, rooming in a hotel operated by David D. Phillips and his wife, at 126 Thirteenth St., enumerated 3 Jan 1920, along with 28 other roomers. His occupation as shown as superintendent at a logging camp.19
David and his second wife had apparently both moved to the Bay Area in California by the time of their marriage. He was living in Oakland, California,2, and she was living in Piedmont.2
David married second Anna Marie Schwankler, daughter of Marie Schwenkler, on 29 Oct 1925 in Oakland, Alameda Co., California, with Edward J. Tyrrell, justice of the peace, officiating. She had previously been married to John Peterson, Charles Davis Slaughter and Forest Emery Reigel.13,14
David and Anna were living at 1915 Castro, Oakland, in 1926.20 They moved to 1421 Market St., Oakland, by 1928.21
David and Anna appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Oakland, Alameda Co., California, at 710½ Apgar St., enumerated 3 Apr 1930, reporting they rented their home. Leslie Peay, a 25-year old painter is listed as a boarder their household.22 They moved to 812 31st St. by 1933.23
He reported his occupation as civil engineer when he married in 1925, but it appears the title of "concrete worker" in the 1926 city directory was more accurate.2,20 He was a salesman by 1928, but returned to construction by 1930, when he reported his occupation as a building laborer. He appears in the 1933 city directory as a concrete worker again.24,25
He was an elevator operter in an office building in 1940, reporting he had worked 45 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,080.26
David and Anna have not been found in the 1940 census. They had moved to Seattle, Washington by 1941 when they were living in an apartment at 1723 18th Ave.27
He was working as an elevator operator in Seattle, at the Meves Buliding in 1941.27 They moved to a rural area in Edmonds, north of Seattle, by 1942. They remained in that area until at least 1948.28 David registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942. He reported he was living on Cedar Valley Highway, Snohomish, Washington, but apparently only temporarily as he listed his mailing address as Edmonds. He reported he was working for White and Bullard at 1010 First Ave., Seattle.29 By 1948 he was working as an elevator operator with Warshal's Sporting Goods Co.30
David and Anna appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Snohomish Co., Washington, enumerated 11 May 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.31
David and Anna apparently moved back to the Bay Area of California at some point, because both of them died in Contra Costa Co.
David died on 24 Mar 1953 in Contra Costa Co., California, at age 71.15
