William was naturalized on 9 Jul 1876 in Hamilton Co., Ohio.17
He reported that he was a baker when he arrived in the United States. He was working as a baker in Cincinnati by 1876, and had a bakery at 289 John St. by 1882.18,19,20,21
William appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Covington, Kenton Co., Kentucky, at 29 Lower Market St., enumerated 4 Jun 1880, boarding, along with another baker, in the household of Henry Scherder, a baker, and his family.22
William married Wilhelmina Louise Wieman, daughter of Henrich Friedrich Wiemann and Anna Maria Catharine Charlotte Rothefeld, on 6 Jul 1881 in Covington, Kenton Co., Kentucky.10,11,12
