     Edwin Gundar Erstad was born on 19 Jul 1892 in Vancouver, Washington.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cathlapoodle, Clark Co., Washington, in the household of his parents, Ole Eric Erstad and Marie S. Rudy.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Cathlapoodle, Clark Co., Washington, in the household of his parents, Ole Eric Erstad and Marie S. Rudy.5
     Edwin registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living in Woodland, Washington, reporting he was employed as in farming by Robert Barr.1
     Edwin appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Clark Co., Washington, enumerated 14 Jan 1920, listed as a lodger in the household of Robert and Lila Barr. His sister Mable was listed as a servant in the household.17
     Edwin married Alma Cecelia Tenold, daughter of Nils G. Tenold and Marie O. Kuntson, on 20 Jun 1926 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington, with James O Blair, Justice of the Peace, officiating.12,13,14,15
     Edwin and Alma were welcomed back from their honeymoon by a noisy charivari at their home new Woodland, Washington, on 30 Jun 1926. The welcome included shots fired into the air, one of which struck his brother Oscar in the ankle. He was taken to a Portland hospital. It was not learned who fired the shot.18
     He was in the lumber industry much of his life. By 1910, at the age of 17, he was a carriage man in a lumber mill. By 1930 he was a logger at a logging camp. In 1940 he reported he was unable to work, and had not worked in the prior year in 1930.19,20,21
     Edwin and Alma appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Woodland, Cowlitz Co., Washington, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family rented it's home, for $12 per month, and did not own a radio. Their children Edna and Flora were listed as living with them, as was her daughter by her prior marriage, Dorine Katherine Gapsch.22
     Edwin and Alma appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Woodland, Cowlitz Co., Washington, enumerated 11 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,000, and had lived in the same house in 1935. Their children Edna, Flora and Edwin were listed as living with them, as were Marie O. Kuntson, her mother, and Michael Knutson, age 81, her mother's brother.21
     Edwin died on 9 Oct 1947 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington, at age 55.16
