Narrative:

     Johann Henrich Wiemann was born on 28 Nov 1818 in Hilter, Königreich Hannover.6,7,8 He was baptized on 6 Dec 1818 in Johannes der Täufer Kirche, Hilter, Königreich Hannover, with Joh. Henr. Lücker, Joh. Henr. Wiemann, and Cath. Maria Riepen as godparents.1
     Henry and his brother Christian were in Cincinnati by 1842, when they were living on Woodward St., between Sycamore St. and Broadway.14
     Johann arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, on 20 Jul 1844, aboard the Marianne, having sailed from Bremen.15,16 After he immigrated, his seems to have been univerally know as Henry. The surname was variously spelled Wiemann or Wieman, though it appears he most commonly use the latter spelling.3,17,18
     Johann married Wilhelmina Maria Rolfinck on 6 Jan 1846 in St. Paul's German Evangelical Church, Cincinnati, Ohio.9,10,11
     Johann and Wilhelmina appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 7 Sep 1850. Their daughter Louisa was listed as living with them.17
     Henry Wiemann and his brother, Friedrich Wiemann, were in the stone mason business. They were supposed to have put the foundations under many of the old buildings in Cincinnati, among them the older part of the Alms and Doepke Co.19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28
     Johann and Wilhelmina appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 12 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $2,000. Their children Louisa, Maria, William and Dena were listed as living with them.29
     Henry and his family were living at 102 Gest St. by 1869, and his brother Friedrich Wiemann and his family were living next door at 100 Gest St.30
     Johann was naturalized before 1870.31,32
     Johann and Wilhelmina appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, enumerated 7 Jul 1870, reporting real estate of $30,000 and personal estate of $1,000. Their children Maria, William and Dena were listed as living with them.33
     Johann and Wilhelmina moved to 97 Gest St. about 1878.34 They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 97 Gest St., enumerated 8 Jun 1880, living in the same building as their daughters Mary and Dena and their families, but recorded as separate households. It is not clear whether they were all living together, or if they had separate units in a larger building. Their son William was listed as living with them, as was a 15-year-old house servant.35 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his daughter, Maria Wilhelmina Wieman, and her husband, William Capelle.36
     Johann was living in 1031 Gest St., Cincinnati, Ohio, at the time of his death.37
     Johann died on 12 Jan 1902 at age 83.12 He was buried on 21 Mar 1902 in German Protestant Cemetery, Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, Ohio, in the family plot owned by him and his brother Fred. There was a $2.50 charge, apparently because of the delay between his death and his burial over three months later. Since there were a number of such delays, it may have been caused by very cold winter weather.13
