     William Capelle was born on 7 Sep 1854 in Cincinnati, Ohio.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Ludwig Capelle and Anna Marie Weidinger.16
     WilliamNeither William nor any member of his family has been found in the 1870 census, but the city directory lists his father as living at 236 Baymiller, Cincinnati, in 1868, 1870, and 1872.17
     William was a buyer for R. W. Booth & Co., importers and jobbers of hardware and cutlery, by 1877, working there until about 1879. By 1881 he was engaged in the manufacturing of picks.18,19
     William married Maria Wilhelmina Wieman, daughter of Johann Henrich Wiemann and Wilhelmina Maria Rolfinck, on 8 May 1878 in North German Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.10,11,12
     William and Maria appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 97 Gest St., enumerated 8 Jun 1880, living in the same home as her parents, and also her sister Dena and her family, and brother William.3
     William and Maria moved to St. Louis, Missouri by 1882, when they were living at 925 Park Ave.20
     When William first moved to St. Louis, he was treasurer of the Standard Tool Company. By about 1883 he had become treasurer of St. Louis Hardware and Cutlery Company. He continued with that company until at least 1983, having become president by then.21
     William and Maria moved to 2435 McNair Ave. about 1887.22
     William and Maria returned to Cincinnati by 1893, when they were living at 338 Baymiller St.23
     When William returned to Cincinnati he joined his younger brother Albert as proprietors of the K. P. L. Company, wholesale and retail dealers in hardware and house furnishing goods, at 478 and 480 Main St., Cincinnati. They continued to operate the business together until William's death.24,25,5
     William and Maria appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 1031 Gest St., enumerated 11 Jun 1900, living in the same house as her brother, William, and his family. Their children William and Louis were listed as living with them, as was her father, Johann Henrich Wiemann.26
     William and Maria moved to 821 Clark St. about 1904.27
     William died on 9 Nov 1909, at his home, 821 Clark St., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 55.13,14 He was buried on 12 Nov 1909 in Cemetery of Spring Grove, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the lot owned by his father.6,15
