     In the spring of 1889 he returned from Florida, and took a position at the St. Louis Republic in St. Louis, MissouriG. He then moved to the Globe-Democrat in the same city.³
     On 6 Oct 1889 he reported sick at work, and grew weaker. In early November he went to the Santa Rosa Infirmary in San Antonio, TexasG, for treatment of his consumption (tuberculosis.)^20,21
