Narrative:

Mary E. Street was born in 1852 in MissouriG.4,5,6 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of her parents, John M. Street and Mariah Brady.12
     Mary married Samuel D. Goodson, son of Isaac N. Goodson and Parmelia A. Goodson, on 5 Dec 1869 in Carroll Co., MissouriG, with Rev. James M. Goodson officiating.7,8,9
     Mary and Samuel appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, enumerated 6 Jul 1870, reporting real estate valued at $2,000 and personal estate of $510.13
     Mary and Samuel appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri G, enumerated 3 Jun 1880. Their children Lula and Zey were listed as living with them.14
     Mary and Samuel moved to Nebraska before 1885. They appeared on the 1885 State Census of Elm, Gage Co., NebraskaG, enumerated 2 Jun 1885. Their children Lula and Samuel were listed as living with them.15
     Her husband died in 1887.16
     In the final distribution of her father's estate in Aug 1889, Mary and each of her living siblings received $602.17 9/11.17
     Mary left a will dated 28 Apr 1890 stating she was of Reynolds, Jefferson Co., NebraskaG, in which she described the assets of her estate in uncommon detail. She said it consisted of a two-year-old colt, household goods, three notes due her totaling $1,106, and three parcels of land. There was one of 160 acres in Thayer Co., Nebraska, which was mortgaged, and two adjacent 40-acre parcels in Carroll Co., Missouri. She directed that the proceeds from the rents be used to support her two sons, Samuel and William, until each reached the age of 16. When the youngest reached 16 the estate was to be equally divided between them and her daughter, Lula. She appointed her brother Charles as executor.18
     Mary died on 26 Jun 1890 in Reynolds, Jefferson Co., NebraskaG, at age ~38, at her home.6,10 She was buried in Rose Creek Cemetery, Reynolds, Thayer Co., NebraskaG.11
     Her will was proved on 30 Aug 1890 in Jefferson Co., NebraskaG.19 Charles posted a bond of $1,000 as curator of the estate of Mary's sons Samuel and William 14 Feb 1891, in Carroll Co., MissouriG.20

Jessie B. Street was born on 22 Sep 1855 in MissouriG.4,5,6
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of his parents, John M. Street and Mariah Brady.11 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of his parents.12
     Jessie married Adaline Edith Hosier, daughter of William Hosier and Nancy Hanks, on 26 Aug 1884 in Carroll Co., MissouriG, with Dan E. Price, justice of the peace, officiating, at his residence.7,8,9
     Jessie and three of his brothers made purchases at the sale of personal property from their father's estate on 15 Aug 1887. They purchased mainly hand tools and farm implements but also some of the produce and livestock.13 A crop of hay belonging to the estate was harvested in the summer of 1887. The widow was paid $15 on 8 Mar 1888 for having taking care of the crop in July. It was sold in Nov and Dec 1887 to several people, including sons William, Charles, and Jessie, for a total of $59.14
     In the final distribution of his father's estate in Aug 1889, Jessie and each of his living siblings received $602.17 9/11.15

     Jessie and Adaline appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Bogard, Carroll Co., Missouri, on Main St. G, enumerated 16 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children Iva and Maria were listed as living with them.20
     His wife died on 11 Jan 1918 in Bogard, Carroll Co., MissouriG.21,22
     Jessie appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Van Horn Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, G in the household of Mary, daughter of his brother Charles, and her husband, Ira A. J. Beard.23
     Jessie moved to Kansas after 1920. He appeared on the 1925 State Census of Pleasant, Lincoln Co., KansasG, reporting he owned his home, which was mortgaged. His daughter Maria was listed as living with him.24
     He was a farmer in KansasG.25
     Jessie died on 18 Mar 1926 at age 70.4 He was buried in the Streets Family Cemetery, Bogard, Carroll Co., MissouriG.10

     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of his parents, John M. Street and Mariah Brady.10 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of his parents.11
     Charles married Iola James, daughter of William H. James and Reliance Booth, on 5 Aug 1877 in Carroll Co., MissouriG, with Rev. W. C. Baird officating.7,8,9
     Charles and Iola James appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri G, enumerated 9 Jun 1880. Their daughter Merta was listed as living with them.12
     Charles and three of his brothers made purchases at the sale of personal property from their father's estate on 15 Aug 1887. They purchased mainly hand tools and farm implements but also some of the produce and livestock.13 Charles and two of his brother purchased from their father's estate parts of the hay crop harvested in the summer of 1887.14 In the final distribution of his father's estate in Aug 1889, Charles and each of his living siblings received $602.17 9/11.15

     Charles died on 16 Nov 1930 in Bogard, Carroll Co., MissouriG, at age 74.3 He was buried on 18 Nov 1930 in the Streets Family Cemetery, Bogard, Carroll Co., MissouriG.3

     He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., MissouriG, in the household of his parents, John M. Street and Mariah Brady.13 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Morris Twp., Carroll Co., Missouri, G in the household of his parents.14
     Melkager was issued letters of administration on 26 Jul 1887 in Probate Court, Carroll Co.G, for the estate of his father, who had died intestate (without leaving a will.)15
     Melkager married Maud S. Moore on 1 May 1889 in Springfield, Greene Co., MissouriG, with Rev. J. W. Lowrance officating.7,8

     He was a farmer in 1900.19
     Melkager and Maud were divorced before 1903.9,10
     By 1904 Melkager was working as a houseman, and living at 507 South Ave., SpringfieldG.20
     Melkager moved to California soon after that.
     Melkager filed a claim for a 160- acre homestead near Victorville, CaliforniaG, sometime before 1908. On 3 Oct 1911 Forrest M. Ackley filed a contest to that application on the grounds that Melkager had not spent the required $1 per acre in labor or money to cultivate or irrigate the land as required by law, and in fact abandoned it for more than three years. It appears the contest was successful ast Melkager did not gain title to the property.21
     Melkager appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1958 Pensylvania Ave. G, enumerated 29 Apr 1910, rooming in the home of Ohio Binckley and his wife and son.22
     He was a laborer, working in lawn care in 1910.23
     Melkager died on 18 Oct 1912 in Los Angeles Co., CaliforniaG, at age 52.11,4 He was buried in the Streets Family Cemetery, Bogard, Carroll Co., MissouriG.12
     Melkager's estate in Missouri was administered by Henry S. LeCompte, the public administrator for Greene Co. He filed a final settlement of the estate in Springfield on 9 Feb 1914, reporting the value of the estate as $1,103.95.24,25
